OK, this may be a stupid topic, but that has never stopped me before......I was watching a MAJOR B movie from the 50s the other night called "The Phantom From 10,000 Leagues" starring Cathy Downs and Kent Taylor. I bought the movie because I knew there would be some cool vintage gear in it and I was not wrong. I noticed a odd thing about the movie/gear however?I-AM-SPAM IN several of the scenes the reg is very obviously mounted on the tank upside down.....thus having the hoses pointing down rather than the customary upward position? I cannot say for sure that the gear was dived in this configuration, but one would assume they did! I was wondering if anyone out there knows why they would do this? I can only guess one thing myself......I would imagine that the horns of the reg may catch kelp/sea weed in the traditional position? Perhaps mounting the reg upside down makes the reg a little more streamlined and more snag-proof? ANY THOUGHTS>>>>>>>>>>>

I don't know if it was the same move but I have seen the same thing. Maybe it's for protection from those pesky hose cutters.

I think it was Hollywood not knowing how the correctly place these regulators. If it's the same thing I'm thinking of, it was a double hose regulator upside down on a set of triples. At that time, Hollywood was not too detail-oriented. I think they just goofed, rather than trying to ascribe it to any real reason for doing it. The actors simply did not know, and there was no good training at that time.

Hi
I'd like to think that divers were just as experimental with gear configuration back than as we are today. I'd love to see that flick as well.
