I eagerly watched anything concerning diving from the mid 60s through the 70s but somehow I missed this gem😂😂😂. Even watched Elvis as a ex Navy frogman in Easy Come, Easy Go. They don't make em like they used to.

I used to watch that when I was little; I didn't realized until a few years ago how totally juicy Cindy is--WOW! Steve is definitely an idiot: gee-whiz, swapping out his gear in the middle of the dive, no wonder he ran out of air... He went from a Sportsways Navy Unit to a ScubaPro (108?), back to the SW and good ol' Isis brought back the SP. Also when the tank falls over, the Navy unit is equipped with a j-valve, and so is the tank-valve. Did'ja notice the Sea-View SPG? Also the kid on the bike who pulls up next to the Honda CVCC to watch the filming? Nice find Mark! JB EDIT: Hmmm, don't know if any of you remember Ditto-jeans for women: but they were high wasted bell-bottoms and really tight in the seat... please look for them on this show, ah-hem,DD, Mark!

I believe Steve is a candidate for the Darwin Award. I assume he screws up in every episode.
An interesting aspect of the diving segment is that instruction was handled by the dive club. The 1956 charter for our dive club (the Humboldt Skindivers), describes how club members should train new lung divers. There were few certification agencies (LA County and I think the YMCA). NAUI hadn't been formed yet. PADI was a long way off.
During my time as a NAUI Instructor, I rocked that porn-star mustache too.
Good Dives, Charlie

Charlie, I think this is very much akin to Hawaii-50, where ol' Steve McGarrett could sustain a gunshot wound every other episode, and just take them stoically... WOW, no screaming, never passes out, no post traumatic stress... I don't think the writers ever intended kids to know any better, "Dang, let's just advance the plot guys..." Like how if you think too much about what happens in Star Wars, looks cool, but physics says absolutely, "Huh-uh!" JB

I did notice the Sportsways SPG right away, mainly because I just bought one a couple weeks back. I had a difficult time reading it, but did it look like it GAINED air as time went on? I could have sworn that it was close to empty then went up in pressure in the next shot a couple minutes later? Mark

Gee, whenever I get stuck underwater I wag my head back and forth to get loose. Works everytime. As to the gear swap, his mask band kinda comes and goes too. One seen its there, right on top. Flash to JBs juicy co-star, and then back again and poof! it's gone. Gotta love 70's film making Thanks for finding this. I vaguely remember watching Isis back in the day, but like JB, my mind wasn't on the gear being used. DD

Hmmmm? Turns out that it was only a few of them: sorry! The company that produced them Lou Scheimer, Hal Sutherland and Norm Prescott had a lot of hits and misses, so I couldn't remember just how long it lasted. Way better than Kroft's "Electra Woman and Dyna Girl", stinko! Just to see if I can nauseate you, Kroft also did "Sigmund the Sea Monster", "Lidsville" and "Land of the Lost"... Oh geez, I gotta run, maybe I can get to the sink in time, blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! JB EDIT: Something to keep in mind while mentioning this and other shows about female-super heroes is that this was the height of the "Women's Liberation" movement, and we were trying to get the ERA ratified: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equal_Rights_Amendment
