Norsk divers!

My wife made me a tee-shirt with the below image (I'm really proud of my Norwegian-heritage):



I thought this was a wonderful image: he's flashing the "V" for victory sign!

"They should clean up after the Germans. This picture was taken during a diving course which was held in the period May-September 1944 18 Norwegians in Sweden, whose task it will be to help with the cleanup after the Germans in Norwegian ports and fairways. The picture shows the participants of the course gathered on the pier."



She, my wife, found a movie that we're going to watch tonight called "Pioneer" about developing the oil-fields in the 1970's which has made Norway one of the wealthiest nations in Europe, before one of the poorest!

It's streaming on Netflix: sounds like it's going to be pretty bleak and dark!

Excellent movie:





Aksel Hennie, who also starred in "Max Manus, Man of War" is fun to watch! This is a cold and sober film, a bit like standing in the rain with just a tee-shirt on: unlike US films that usually telegraph their punches, we were quite bewildered as to what exactly was going to happen.

Funny thing, I thought I was just imagining it, but my wife was saying that Aksel Hennie looks like me at times: that same far away expression: I guess it's a Norski-thing?
