Today I found yet another classic Scuba manual, this one is a 1974 printing of "Diving for Fun" distributed by DACOR. Mark

Another good one. Sadly the author was lost at sea in a sailing accident.

The first edition of Joe Strykowski's Diving for fun appeared in 1969. I've a copy of the third edition (1971) below: and here's my hardback copy of the fourth, 1974, edition: In 1962, Strykowski (below) edited a book entitled Underwater Yearbook, published by the Underwater Society of America in Chicago, Illinois. There's an account here of the marine accident when Strykowski went missing: Search for missing sailors called off.

Oh boy, I missed this one when I was up north! I do like the art; I believe the medium is tempera paint, which is what they use to paint windows and cartoon back grounds, well when humans made them anyway!
