Has anyone ever tried to make US Diver duckbills out of silicone? Seems that they would hold up much better than the rubber ones

With my life expectancy, the black ones from Dan, or Bryan will be MORE than adequate!

Hi
Silicone would cause the price to go up considerably, the natural rubber ones being made now are just fine, but I do wish Dan would get some yellow ones made up if possible. I wonder if the hoses from the new Mistral will fit any of the older regs.

In answer to the question of Ron's 'Will New Mistral Hoses fit.....No, definetly not.
I have a new Mistral and there is nothing on that regulator which would interchange with any vintage regulator that I have ever seen or have in my collection. The hoses are very large and look like modern rebreather hoses. The mouthpiece is large too, and is made of plastic. It has the new oval silver Mistral logo on it.
Of course, anything can be made to fit with spacers etc, but it would look very strange indeed.
The new Mistral is a good regulator, just 'not-at-all' vintage.
