Is that why it leaks water??? Yes I do, when not in use I keep my hoses and duck valve in the extra 'fridge.

Nothing like digging up a 12 yr old thread, but here goes... DOXA has to be my top favorite brand. They're packed with vintage coolness, and the history is amazing. I hung around their official forum so much I eventually became a moderator. That led to me organizing and leading a dive trip every year for collectors to Grand Cayman, called Searaider. In addition to moderating and organizing trips, I also assisted delivery of the watches to Fabien Cousteau for his Mission 31 project to the Aquarius Undersea Habitat in the Florida Keys, back in 2014. It's been ten years now that I've been helping and consulting on various projects, and it's been a fun ride. Here are a few pics from some of that journey. Here's from a photoshoot for an HDS article I wrote about the DOXA Sub: Dirk Cussler and I, standing by to dive to the Aquarius habitat for Mission 31: Us presenting them to Fabien inside the habitat. A few watches from our last Cayman trip: First time diving a double hose, back in '07 in Hawaii, getting ready to dive Pat Regan's Nemo Suit: And finally, under the cuff of the Nemo Suit:

This is not bragging--please do not take it that way. Way back, my instructor friend when I was a kid had a DOXA watch. It was way cool and I always wanted one. He also owned a small scuba shop and sold USD gear and of course USD sold DOXA watches with their logo on them. You may recall these from the 60s and 70s. Even JC wore them! Well, while casting about for something to spend my remaining ebay funds and lawn mowing funds upon (have Kubota--will travel) I encountered a DOXA on a watch trading site--thanks emilio largo. This led to a search for others which led to the company that still makes them, the DOXA SUB600T!!!!!!!!!!!!! and darn if their not being featured in the recent movie release SAHARA (a simple for fun adventure movie). Well, I now have one and it is way cool and looks like it is right out of the 60s and it is so purty it makes Rolex watches cringe and it is vintage and my instructor would be proud, double hose and DOXA, just like him. I better go warm the 'bota up, see I if some yards need mowing! James Bought this in 1967 after taking a course at New England Divers. Bought this a couple of years ago. #0613 of 1200 DOXA is alive and well in Switzerland. ~ Sea Bob ~

Nice vintage 300T, Bob. I noticed that it has Searambler hands, on a Professional dial. Any idea how things got swapped around?

Nice vintage 300T, Bob. I noticed that it has Searambler hands, on a Professional dial. Any idea how things got swapped around? It is all original. Actually called a SUB 300 Professional no "T" It is a first edition. Bought it in 1967 when it first came out. The SUB 1200 T was a limited series to more or less commemorate the original SUB 300 except minute hand is black not orange and has larger heavier case and a safire crystal lens and gas vent. Original has no vent and an acrylic lens.

Most 300 US Divers models had the black and yellow logo, nick named the "Black-Lung". Yours is rather unique, so do you have some better photos of it?

Here are some that I've had in the watch box over the years. I love those crazy designs!

It originally had the "Black Lung" logo. Seems I misspoke when I said it was all original. I was responding to your comments on the hands which are original. Sea Rambler is a larger watch and the hands wouldn't fit. Also, Rambler has a black second hand. This one is orange. I forgot, however, that I had sent it to Switzerland a few years back because the paint on the face/dial was cracking for some reason. They said they could stabilize it and touch it up, but when they got it, no joy. Because parts were/are no longer available for the original 300's they had to hand make a new face and when they did for some reason they replicated the 300T logo not the Black Lung. They also could not fix or replace the original ratchet on the wrist band so I had them put on the heavier duty new style. I still have the original, but it doesn't latch. It has a smaller case than the 300T and the bezel goes to 195' instead of 190'. I guess though not totally original it is unique. They told me not to dive it as they would not certify it's water tightness. I dive my 1200T which is a larger watch, but still I love it. ~ SeaBob ~

Kinda bummed as no one will make the old style watches water tight anymore: as you have to have a locking crown--GRRRRR I believe this one is late 1960's or early 70's. It's a Kingston: there is now a modern Kingston-II. I also have two Bulova Accutrons and a swell Hamilton automatic, my wife's grandfather's Elgin gold pocket-watch, her father's watch he wore during WW-II, and a nifty Oris she gave me as well, and various Timexs... Nice old Kingston, JB. If it were mine, I'd give that acrylic crystal a polish with some toothpaste, or Semi-chrome, get the lume repaired on the hands, and start wearing it on a repro Tropic strap, or a canvas strap. A good watchmaker could probably fit a new o-ring for the case back, but it looks like the crystal is chipped/cracked, so it might not be able to be waterproofed again. A non-screw down crown isn't a total deal breaker either, as many watches of this era sealed without them including the DOXA. As of a few years ago, Fortis still used a push-in/compression crown without any problems.

Here's a couple more pictures of the DOXA. Also two Quantum watches. They are basically Citizen watches manufactured for a Turkish company Quantum. I received them as gifts in 2000 when I was Diving Supervisor/Officer for the free diving team of Yasamin Dalkalic doing her World Record dives.
