Are these specs for the Silver? The older ones were to be used at less than 2400 psig.

Yes they are from a Silver manual. However Enrique Dauner sent me ip values for my V-2's that corresponded to the spec for the Silver. I've emailed him and am waiting for re-confirmation. I quote from his email below.
"The Intermediate Pressure (IP) depends of the pressure of the tank (HP) and so should it be adjusted:
HP PI
200bar 8,2 bar
170 9
130 10
100 10,5
65 11
35 11,6
20 12,5
The overpressure valve should be adjusted at 12 bar.
If you put the regulator can in horizontal position, connected to the tank and with pressure, the upper lever should be about 4mm over the can. You can do it like in the Spiro Mistral that you see in the picture."

From the horses mouth. Just heard back from Enrique.
Hello Bob,
in the "V-2 years", the amateur scuba divers charged the tanks with 150 bar but the military divers (Army) worked with tanks charged at 200 bar (and sometimes 250bar). And Nemrod sold all the regulators (V-2) used by the Spanish Army and many others. So, you can put the V-2 and the Snark at 200bar without problems. I do it...
Buenas noches!
Enrique

Did you all know that the Nemrod V2 was named after this: Just as the Snark was named after an American guided missile: and this: was named after this: JB

Thanks for the great information. Please know I didn't doubt you, I just wondered if the same specs applied to the older models. My 110 psig figure for the IP comes from Roberts in "Basic Scuba". I also have a Silver, so the tables are useful to me anyway. Phil

I've got Bob's old Snark 3 blue almost done. I stole all the parts I needed out of it and then put the modded Conshelf pin, a hardware store LP spring, and an old USD DA diaphragm all up in it. I added in a USD phenolic washer on top of the original rubber washer to replace the buggered paper washer on the HP side and did some lubing up on the HP diaphragm (the rubber looks fine). It works! All I need to do now (all!) is get the broken of c clip out of the HP valve. That might take some doing as its about 5/8th of the clip with both ends broken off. How'd I do that, you ask? Oh, I'm capable, all right. I've tested it, since the broken c clip still holds it all together, and she works fine. Now I need to do the repair on the exhaust mushroom, and it's ready for dive testing. These are really cool regs!

That reg has some history, all of which I don't know, but I actually found it in 200+ feet of water at the bottom or Rock Lake in Santa Rosa NM. It was attached to a completely rusted away cylinder . The valve had a rotten rope attached to the valve. I assumed it must have been used as a tie off safety tank for some divers years ago. I brought it up in the early 90's while mapping the lake with the US Deep Diving Team. When I locate the pictures I'll upload them.

That's amazing! It's in a lot better shape than I would have guessed!

For What It's Worth...- I re-built two of the early Snark III double hose regs. But, I didn't have a way to measure the IP and I didn't have a service manual to know what IP should be anyway. For that end of it, I assumed the original setting had to be pretty close so I didn't change the position of the adjustment screw and I marked the spring retainer so that I could return it to the depth it was original set at. - My "re-build" was mainly five repairs: 1. I replaced the curled up paper gasket on top of the HP diaphragm's rubber washer with a DA Aquamaster phenolic washer... I might have used two to get the right thickness. This sealed a leak. Both regs needed this. 2. I replaced the diaphragm with a new silicon USD Mistral diaphragm from VDH. 3. I disassembled and cleaned the overpressure relief valve on the back. 4. One of the regs needed a new exhaust valve which I was able to get from Enrique. 5. Installed a U.S. Divers hose loop and mouthpiece. - Both of these regulators are now excellent breathers. Surprisingly so... I would say as good as a well tuned DA Aquamaster. My original post on one of these regs is at vintagescuba.proboards.com/thread/3704/dirt-cheap-snark-iii-projectMy second Snark III project is at vintagescuba.proboards.com/thread/3954/snark-iii-exhaust

Your half remembered posts were the inspiration for my idea that USD parts could be modded to get these Snarks back up and running. I definitely re-read them and got good information from them. Thanks! I know of Enrique and have communicated with him about parts, but I balked at the shipping charge for a pin and some gaskets. He said that he doesn't have the rubber washer that goes against the HP diaphragm, but you just use two fiber gaskets to make up the thickness. I used one phenolic gasket over the rubber gasket. Making the rubber gasket shouldn't be a problem though? Setting the IP should be do-able with the adapter I'm making. I'm waiting for a gauge to come in the mail. It's one that has an inflator QR for a BC hose. This shows a first effort (bottom) and a 1/2 done second. They are M10 x 1 male and 3/8" UNF female.
This is the first try with a random 3/8" fitting screwed on:
This is the second try, but the 3/8" end is still blank.
These are learning adapters. The real one will be made of hex brass stock. I'm learning a lot about thread cutting on the lathe. I definitely need more practice.....

It used to just be a gnarly-corroded-dented Snark with parts to cannibalize! Now it's a fabulous piece of diving history! It probly belonged to a bad guy who stole the gold from Ft. Knox and Mike Nelson fought him and cut his hose and he sank to the bottom and died with the treasure! Or something. At least, that'll be the eBay description! I'm anxiously awaiting pics from Bob!

The sharp eyed amongst you will note the little broken off c clip ear laying there, and that the nozzle has the valve parts still in it w/o a filter. Both the ears broke off the clip, leaving 5/8ths of it in the nozzle. @#$%^&!! That's going to be fun to get out. I dug out the filter, hoping for some space to work, but didn't gain much.
