You might already know, but WE are right here in Southern Oregon. And we have others here as well, in Oregon and in Northern California. Welcome aboard! Linda

I'm in Beaverton (Portland area, for those not from Oregon). I grew up in Salem, near the Fair Grounds on Evergreen Ave. In high school (North Salem High), we started the Salem Junior Aqua Club in the early 1960s. Some of my earliest diving experiences were in the Little North Fork (of the North Santiam River) and in Detroit Reservoir. My initial checkout dive was in Yaquina Bay, under the Hw 101 bridge. I went through Oregon State University, and dove with the Beavers diving club in the mid-1960s and early 1970s. I had a research project in Yaquina Bay too, involving commensal amphipods and sculpin fish on the Tealia Sp. anemone.
Anyway, good to hear from you, and perhaps we can get together sometime.
John

"We" are located in Selma, right? Thanks for the response. Where do you blow bubbles?

Sorry, "we"... meaning Vintage Scuba Supply (Dan, and me). Yup, Selma. Around here, he usually blows bubbles in the Illinois River (why they named it that, I don't know!) It's beautiful, deep (up to 40 ft.), clear water, with rocky outcroppings.... He also goes to the ocean, out of Brookings. It's only about an hour or so away. Me, I blow bubbles in the bath tub, and sometimes in my beer. ;D

MMMMM Beer. An essintial part of any dive locker. Where does your husband dive on the Ill. River. A 40 foot river hole is a wonderful thing.

Well, first, Dan and I are not husband and wife. About the river... I don't know if that area has a name, but it's about 12(?) miles out Illinois River Road. It's underneath a humongous swinging foot bridge (that in itself is something to see!) Gary Bluhm from Coral Sea Scuba in Grants Pass actually takes his classes out there, though - that's how great it is! They train rescue divers out there, as well as regular certification. Of course it's only good in the summer months - the river is RAGING in the winter. BTW, what is your first name? Linda
