Charlie, after doing a bit of digging it seems that there is an Aquastar specific decompression table that corresponds with the bezel. The inner bezel ring is for dive time, and that time is then referenced to the table. The bezel is then set to the hour hand, and as the hour hand moves, it calculates decompression time. I haven’t fully wrapped my brain around it yet, but if I can find out more, I’ll let you know.

That is so cool. See if you can read or figure out this table and instructions. dsc_0811 by Charlie will, on Flickr

Hard to tell for sure without seeing the entire set of instructions, but the top horizontal bar is the dive time. The left side, vertical bar is the depth, and “Coefficient C” is where the two intersect on the graph.
Let’s look at a dive time of 30 minutes to 36 meters (118’) and see where the two intersect. If I had to take a wild guess I’d say the larger number indicates mandatory deco time, which in this case is 15 minutes. There’s also the other number of 1.6, and that’s where the hour hand would be set according to the instructions. As the hours go by, this number drops which would be used to plan repetitive dives. If it goes beyond 1.1 and to the “Normal” zone, then there is no remaining nitrogen and the dive can be planned as a non-repetitive dive. Is that making sense?
