Do YOU have something interesting related to the Cousteau Society?
Do YOU have an unwanted piece of equipment that was collected years ago?
Does your WIFE want you to "get rid" of that old "junk"?
Maybe I can help you...
Please PM if you have any equipment that is related to the Cousteau Society, Cousteau Divers, or even the man himself.
Looking for:
-Suits
-Regulators
-Tanks
Got something but unsure? PM me anyways!

TD- There was a dive shop in the pacific northwest maybe Oregon or Washington state that had some double hose regs used (or so they claimed) by the Cousteau team. Old age is getting the better of me right now and I cant remember the name of the place, but maybe a member can remember the shop.

Hopefully we can track this shop down and see if they’re still in business! I’d love to get my hands on a reg used by the Cousteau Team. It is possible, since to fund raise or pay debts Cousteau often auctioned off his gear or just outright gave it away. TD

Northeast Scuba Supply was advertising Cousteau regs for some time, but there were none to be had, in reality. The offer is now down.

According to DDS, they acquired a big box of regs off of the RV Calypso when it was in the shipyards for a period of time. They had a letter from the Cousteau Society listing provenance of some items, but the shop apparently went bust a few years ago. There wasn't much left when I stopped by the shop, but I picked up an old two-stage DH reg as a souvenir. It had a crack in one of the cans, so it probably just got tossed into the parts box and survived all these years. Let me know if you're interested. Maybe someone on the board still has a copy of the letter. -Doug Discount Divers Supply Scuba Diving Center Servicing, buying, and selling new and used dive gear since 1993. 2520 Westlake Ave N Seattle, WA 98109 www.discountdivers.com/

I see the website is up, but I'm not sure the shop is open. Maybe someone in Seattle can chime in. -Doug

Hi Doug, thanks for the tip. I’ve searched around for that shop or and leads related to it and hit a wall previously. Although I do vividly remember reading about JM Cousteau selling the business some DH regs.
Thanks for your help,
TD
