In the mid 70’s Imperial came out with a nitrogen blown silicon rubber wet suit, did anyone out there ever use it? Or know why the idea seemed to go no where with regard to sport diving wet suits. I think they continued to make them in survival suits???

I had one of them in the late 70's. The rubber layer was orange (between the nylon two sided). It was a great wet suit at the time. I think I got rid of it because I out grew it and I moved to Florida (were I didn't need it). It was supposed to be the most flexible wet suit at the time. Even with how flexible it was, it was still best to have it custom made. That being said, in my opinion, today’s wet suits are so much more flexible that I recently walked into a dive shop tried on what they had in stock an walked out with a great fitting suit. This is a 7mm suit with no ankle or wrist zippers and even the farmer-John doesn't need an entry zipper! I love my old Aqua-Master, my Fenzy, my old Poseidon’s, etc... but I don't missed the old wet suits. Luis

Hi Chuck I would love to go to Florida in September, but I am afraid that after Wazee I will probably have to wait till spring for the next vintage dive trip. I am thinking Florida in the spring.
