i was wondering if low pressure ports on the voit swimaster trieste are the same as the ones used now days and if the is a way to split the port to allow the use of an octopus and bc inflator hose

The LP and HP ports are 3/8 I think. Nowadays most HP stuff is 7/16. There are adapters that convert back and forth and there are three way splitters that allow use of multiple LP hoses on a single port..
On one of my Royal Aqua-Masters I run a banjo for my HP that carries the SPG, I run a Hookah adapter from Bryan's web site, vintagedoublehose.com, and I use a three way splitter from Diverite and I also use a LP 90 degree swivel (actually it is HP but it does great LP from Diverite also) and a ball swivel (Diverite again) on my secondary. This allows the the BC inflator to route over my LH shoulder as normal and my safe second then routes under my RH arm on a long hose (from Diverite) and is bungeed to my neck with a breakaway snap so an OOA diver can grab it since he cannot turn the primary as is DIR style since it is a double hose. The HP hose is routed down my left side on a short hose and clips to a D ring on my left hip also DIR style. When I dive doubles I use twin regs, the primary is a double hose and a second complete regulator provides safe second and also serves duty to run all LP and HP functions. I use these configurations when going deep, going solo or when commanded to by knowitall Padi-itis Divemasters. When left to my own resources I don't use a BC, I don't use a safe second and most times not even an SPG (J-reserve) so this makes it all simple and fun and truely vintage. Hope this helps. James

If you have an AMF Trieste regulator, then any of the older LP adaptors can be used for the LP port. I use one made by Dacor some years ago, which is longer than others. It converts one LP port to 5 (two right, one left, and one down). I have both an LP inflator hose for my BC (which is my own design, and I call the Para-Sea BC) going left, and an octopus going right. The LP inflator hose fits the adaptor going around my left shoulder, as the adaptor's metal piece is long enough to all the hose to go under the Trieste regulator's body. The octopus was recently upgraded from a Sportsways second stage to an MR-12 (some period as the Trieste), and it works great. I would highly recommend this arrangement, as I have been using it since the 1970s. I think all the LP adaptors should work; it's the HP hole that they made a different size in about 1985 so that you could not put an LP hose on a HP port. By the way, I'd go ahead and get the LP hose working and use the BC if you are diving anything other than in the tropics, as wet suit compression is a factor we've been working on for buoyancy compensation since the 1970s.
