Be sure to bring all of your pretty regulators! Just a reminder, please feel free to bring items you would like to sell or trade and mention them in this space. I have a NIB, 1967 Royal Aquamaster and a set of 38's with a nearly new harness that I might part with

I have ..... a set of 38's with a nearly new harness that I might part with As much as I love twin 38's, I already have one set (see pic below) and have another set in project mode (just ordered a 1 3/8" 6-point 3/4 drive socket to remove the bushings from the USN tanks (1st hydro Oct. 1941 - pre Pearl Harbor ). Current project: Found a NIB USD J-62 with pipe threads to put unit together. Going to be ordering new reducer bushings from McMaster-Carr. Too much fun. M

Is anyone interested in tee shirts? please indicate size if you are. If there is enough response, I will try to get a local vendor to make some. Ideas for the logo are welcome but please act quickly.

Jim, I’m going to be in Monterey next week with the family, so that will be my first experience in the area. Me and my boys will be doing some dives out of Point Lobos. The water is supposed to be clear, but cold (48°), so will it be any different by Sept? I’m thinking about coming out for the September meet, if you think it’s worth the flight from Louisiana.

W'll, I thought that was the whole point of a dry suit? JB

The water is supposed to be clear, but cold (48°), so will it be any different by Sept? Last September the water at San Carlos Beach Park was 58 F. I only did one dive down to about 45' but I was fine in my 5mm farmer john with hooded jacket. I'd use my drysuit if I was doing multiple dives or deeper dives. Sept/Oct is "usually" the warmest water but I've seen it 50F at that time of year too. YMMV. My 2 psi. M

W'll, I thought that was the whole point of a dry suit? JB It is, I’m just wondering how much thermal I need to wear under it. When I did the photo shoot in Laguna a few years ago, I only had on a pair of waffle knit long johns, and I was uncomfortably cold. That was in late September. I have thicker thermals, but if you have to stay geared up for a while before entering the water, then overheating is a problem. That’s probably more of an issue with diving from small boats. Been there, and it’s miserable vomiting due to overheating.
