u tube video. “PT 305: A restoration project” and there are two more after this. Not really diving, but vintage on the water. Pretty interesting especially for us old squids. Guess in 1943 you’d just jump in with a snorkel to check the bottom.

Oi, lad, no link: is this what you wanted us to see: I had no idea that they were a big as they are--YIKES! Until about five years ago we had the USS Iowa BB-61 mothballed in the Carquinez Strait, the SF Bay. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Iowa_(BB-61)We also have the SS Red Oak Victory amongst many, many others: redoakvictory.us/I have a lot of respect for the Merchant Marine and US Coast Guard--they both get cr@pped on big time--GRRR! JB EDIT: here's a swell book that talks about the SF Bay from a long time ago, very fun! Tales of the Fish Patrol by Jack London: www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/911

I always thought the PT-73 on McHale's Navy was rhud-ick-yewlus: I can't help but wonder what they used, "Where are the other two torpedoes... It too danged short!" JB
