Hi
I can understand buying one or two double hose regulators on Ebay, but hay! there are a few individuals who have been buying more than there share. One particular bidder I counted purchased over 37 double hose regulators many of the same type over the last six months. Is he addicted to buying and or determined not to be out bid by anyone. What can one person do with so many regulators.

That is what has turned me to converting single hose rigs to a double hose style.

Low cash is definitely a frustrating problem. Something that most of us experience. (Especially when a really nice double hose regulator becomes available that we want.) Vintage double hose regulators have become increasing more popular and with an incease in demand comes an increase in price. Checkout the regulators that Dan Barringer has for sale on this website. I know that they are probably more than you're currently able to spend, but you'll be purchasing a restored, diveable regulator. Something that doesn't happen all that often on eBay. Good Luck and don't give up. Regards, JES

I can understand your frustration on this. I myself have been out bid on a few different regulators on ebay at the last minute by the same person. Three in one day. This person lives over seas, and either they can not be found there or he is trying to corner the market for re-sale. I have a big enough nose that I did em him with that question, on what he is doing with them. But no reply, so I can only guess.

Hey - Ebay is a quite interesting thing... Some day the prizes are high and another day your have the luck of a golddigger... I always tell me - that prize is too high, but as these regs were sold in thousands - there will be mine one day at a reasonable prize... The only thing that you need is patience. If you but something immediately, you will (in nearly 95% of all cases) find the same thing cheaper some times later. And the other 5% ? These are the really rare things that are prized by desire...

I agree with you, what does someone need with so many. Why hog them all up? What good are they if you don't dive them. I might also suggest the long term value of these things is not all that likely to continue upward. I could suggest several other more relaible investments other than buying every two hose regulator from ebay! Yeah, well, I out bid him twice, sniped him. I don't wish to be mean but I really think buying that many regulators that quickly is very odd---if I am wrong--well--I apologize in advance. If I decide to sell anything in the future I will probably not sell it on ebay in order not to add my equipment to a collector. Removing this many units over time from the market and putting them on display cases could affect the rebuildable/diveable supply of regulators. Yeah, they built bunches of them, bunches also have been destroyed, lost, worn out and now "collected". I am a vintage diver, not a vintage collector. James
