I an new to this forum and wish to announce myself. I am a male 75 years old that dove my first tank of air in 1952. Back then we made most of our special gear. Our spear guns were wood and our dive lights were flashlights encased in condoms. We made our own dive cameras with Plexiglas and acetone. There were not many laws as to what we could shoot and we shot a lot of stuff. Logger head turtles and Goliath grouper. Both were very tasty. I was certified by P.A.D.I. in 1972 as a dive master. Yes I started at the bottom and worked my way up. I had the pleasure of commercial diving for ARS out of West Palm Bch in Florida. The were salvaging a Spanish wreck off of Jupiter FL. I did the underwater video survey. During that job I got to dive with the archeologist from FAU. That was a treat. I have an original spring gun made by Mares called the Bess. It is very rare and a collector item. Mine has never been used and is in fine shape. The spear shaft has some light rust from many years in my shop. I am 6' tall 275# and a former power lifter and can NOT see how it would be possible to load this gun underwater. I just can do it on land. I would like to sell it and will entertain all reasonable offers or trades. If you might be interested please call me at 252-747-8584 or E-mail me at rodsandguns@gmail.com. I also have a vintage Cornelius compressor that was used to fill dive cylinders. I will consider selling it or getting parts to rebuild it and fill my tanks. Thank you for reading all this clutter. Your fellow diver and friend.....Mike
