I could see a new label in the future, but this one is staying as close to circa 1958 as possible. It does have a silicone diaphragm though, and I had to buy a new LP Poppet, which I got the "upgraded" version from VDH. But other than that...I'm trying to keep it as close to it was when new. Mark

Mark There is a very simple process to repaint labels. Here is one I did a while ago. Before painting: After painting 1. Remove all the old paint (thinner). 2. Apply Testors Model enamel evenly to the entire label (in whatever color you want). 3. Let dry. 4. Place a fine grade of wet/dry emory cloth on a sheet of glass and wet down so it sticks flat on the glass. 5. Apply the label face down on the emory cloth and rub evenly in a circular motion until all the paint is removed from the raised areas of the label.

WOW; that looks great Mark. I've never really looked into the procedure for repainting any labels and after seeing this post I'm really impressed. I'll definitely be posting a copy of this procedure in my reg repair manual. Thanks for posting this! Terry

I've heard of restoring labels, and that is something I will think about. I've also heard about people scraping the paint off the labels as well, but that seems tedious to me. I'm going to dive this one first and see how things turn out before I invest time in labels. This was my first Aqua-Master and I have to say it is "SO MUCH EASIER than my DA Navy Approved!!! That regulator took effort!!! This one was mainly waiting on the US Post Office to get the parts my way. Mark

Plus they take a special IP gauge that screws directly into the 2nd Stage port.

With that adapter, you can plug the gauge into the adapter or the 1:3 adapter. IMG_1447 by John Ratliff, on Flickr John

Mark,
You are correct. I was thinking of the Aquamaster series, not the DA Aqualung. When you said, "Navy Approved," I was thinking of the Aquamaster.

Mark,
I know you feel stuck in the Midwest, but it looks like you have some amenities! I wish I had a good fresh water dive spot somewhere near me to dive sometimes.
The ocean is beautiful, and the sea creatures are amazing, but it's hard to do beach entries, deal with jellyfish, fear for predators, and have all that salt water cleanup to do!
If anyone knows of a fresh water quarry, lake, or whatever that is a good dive spot in the SF Bay area, please let me know!

It'd be great to see the Ocean again before I die, just once again, at least!!! At least I got to live a few of my years in So. Cal... I don't brag about the Midwest, but it is alright... Miss the Ocean... Mark

(Yikes) Sharks and cold, cold water and HUGE waves... Then we have earthquakes too, but I still wouldn't want to live anywhere else! JB

Yes, I really miss California!!! I was born in Ohio, but the three years of my youth in San Diego has had more influence in my life that any other. (How did this topic turn into this?) Mark

We need to put together a VS Forum trip to someplace awesome like Grand Cayman. Plan it a few years out, so that everyone has time to save, and then make it happen.
