Excellent! I’m looking forward to the dive review!

Apparently I was overly enthusiastic. I still have a barely perceptable HP seat leak. I'll try some more polishing and cleaning but where can I get the tubing to make a sleeve in case I have to go the new HP seat route? TIA Mark

Mark, my friend made that bushing for me, perhaps PY can make you one: I don't know? But, you may be able to polish the cone via this method: Find something that you can fit into the valve-plunger's skirt and spin it up in a hand drill. I like to lock the drill into a vice and then touch the abrasive stick to the cone. This is my method anyway. JB

Driving myself batty. Took the DivAir apart again, ran #0000 steel wool over the volcano orifice with a dremel and, viola, no more HP seat leak. Fingers crossed.

It could be the soft seat. JB's resurfacing method will work in most cases. JB's copper sleeve adapter will make an HW Scuba seat fit into the DivAir. I went a different way, putting a plastic sleeve over an HW Scuba seat, enlarging it so it fits inside the DivAir body, with good results. Either way will work, but the copper sleeve will corrode. A plastic/nylon sleeve over the HW seat will not. This shouldn't be a problem if you keep salt water out of the HP valve.
You should review the DivAir threads available here. There is excruciating detail about it all.
Email me if you can't get a seal.

PY, it only looks like copper: it's actually brass: but I do like the idea of plastic. It's funny, the first one I made I think I used a credit card that I formed with some heat to see if would even work: the fact that we're even having this conversation proves that it did JB

Mine isn't a valve sleeve, it's a sleeve that fits over the seat. I used delrin, but think nylon would be better. Note that JB's DivAir seat has ridges like the HW seat. I've only seen one like that in my DivAirs. The others are smooth cylinders.

Your DivAir looks great! Nice work on that restoration, Mark!
Those are a set of Jeff's hoses, right? Please include a critique of them in your dive report! They are very flexible, and I am wondering what you think of the "feel" in the water.
I'm thinking about making a short fingered lever for my DivAir with the long fingered one. I think they suffer a little from a loss of air direction with those older style parts.

Very simple upstream one-stage design that is different enough from the Voit Sportsman or a USD StreamAir to avoid any patent infringement problems. First, very nice, VERY! Secondly: did I miss something? As far as my sleep deprived brain knows, this is a downstream valve! JB

The only downstream single stage regs that I know of are 2 different 50 Fathom models. Anyone know of others?

Yeah, the Voit VCR-2 (blue and chrome) and the VCR-5 (plastic) are the only downstream single stage regs I have heard of. I understand that the downstream approach was done by Voit to get around the US Diver-owned upstream patent design.

Did you ever test dive the DivAir, Mark? I'd love to know how it went if you did!
