Hi all,
I just got two Snark III Silvers, and some copies from a repair manual. Well, I have googled a bit about these regulators, but have not found very much. Right now I am diving with a MEDI, which is quite OK now. The Snark III seems to be more advanced, it looks like a two stage system, and there also seems to be a high or middle pressure connector at the case. Does andone have a manual for this baby or can someone enlighteh me about the features before I actually start to demount it?
Thanks.

Nemrod advertised this as a "three stage" regulator, but the "middle pressure connector" you talk about is not that, but a safety relief valve which MUST] remain connected unless you put a downstream regulator on it. The second stage is an upstream, push-pull stage which will not vent pressure. Therefore they must have the pressure relief valve on the Snark III. More later, but I have to do some training now.

Blubb,
One other thing about the Nemrod Snark III is that it's venturi openings not only point toward the intake hose, but also at the low pressure diaphragm. I have improved the breathing characteristics a lot by creating a "baffle" plate out of plastic from a milk container. I shielded the diaphragm from the air nozzles, and that also served to increase the venturi effect. It was pretty easy to do--I simply cut out a portion that would fit ento two of the screw holes in the top box, and covered the diaphragm's area that would be affected by the nozzle air, but not so high as to impinge on the diaphragm at all. This baffle "aimed" more of the air down the intake hose, and no air was allowed to hit the diaphragm.

Hi John,
thanks for the info, but I am not as far as improving the regulator, right now I am just happy to make them work and adjust them. Because you know this regulator pretty well, can I ask you some specific questions when I (finally) have the time to start working on them?

Blubb,
Sure, and if you would rather, you could PM me too.
