Bill, you could also hook them up to the first stage of diaphragm reg set the IP to 150, then adjust it to where it just stops to free flow... JB Well yeah JB, I could have done that, but then I would have missed the fun of building a specialized super-duper relief valve testing device! I have relief valves on my pressure pot for testing depth gauges and dive computers, as well as on inter-stages and final stages of four compressors. Also works as a second stage test stand, shop air supply, tire filler, etc! Gotta have something to do to fill my days.

Did you build the pressure pot yourself ? I would love to see photos of that.

Did you build the pressure pot yourself ? I would love to see photos of that. I understand that one can be built out of an old Allen Light. Anyone know how, as I have one of those lights? John

Did you build the pressure pot yourself ? I would love to see photos of that. I had it built at a machine shop in about 1974. The commercially available ones were much too expensive for me at that time, and I had certified the machinist that became a good customer and friend. He made me a terrific trade deal. I wouldn't have been able to do this one myself. It is much larger and way heavier than the old Allen light. I haven't seen any of those converted.
I'll post some photos and specs soon.

Here's my test chamber made in 1974 from 7.25"OD steel tubing with 0.25" wall. Overall exterior height is 11.375". Interior working space 6.75" ID by 8.00" tall. The view port is 1.00" plexiglass. Overall weight is 28 pounds. At one time I "hydro" tested it to 100 psi, filling it completely with water and submerging it in water. I initially limited the test depth equivalent to 120', but more conservative now as I am not sure about the integrity of the 48 year old plexiglass view port.
