I have a pair of ScubaPro Jetfins, size large, and a pair of size x-large. Aside from the foot pocket size difference, the x-large fins are exactly the same as the larges but extend about 3 1/2 inches longer (past the vent channels to the tip) than the larges. I know that USD Rocket Fins can be had in the "Super Rocket" version which is larger than the conventional Rockets. My question is- Is this longer version of Jetfin available in various sizes, or are larges available in only one length, x-larges in the other, longer length, mediums in...........? If there is some longer variant across the range of foot pocket sizes, do they have some other designating name (like "Super Rocket" in Rocket Fins)? I hope I am being clear enough with my question and description to be properly understood.

I believe they only made (and still make) one size blade for each foot size.
I know of several individuals that wanted the larger blade size, so they bought the XL and glued neoprene inside the foot pocket to fit with their wetsuit boot.

I always thought the "rocket" fins, were the same in both large and extra large. They always had more than enough room for me with booties. I got my wife a pair of "rockets" in MEDIUM, and the foot pocket was reduced in size, yet the blade area was the same (as long and wide) as my large ones! I have my original pair I bought in 1973 which are still servicable!

In the mid-1970s ScubaPro came out with a Lightning Jet Fin. These fins were longer, with a much larger foot pocket, and had a different, more flexible rubber compounding. I still have mine. These were also issued by the USAF at the time to Pararescue teams at the time as one of the only fins available which could fit large feet. The only larger foot pockets were the White Stage SuperStag fin. The Lightning Jet Fin could be seen by the lightning bolt through the ScubaPro symbol on the top of the fin.

Aloha Sea Rat Did you ever try the White Stage SuperStag fin? I still use them on a daily basis leading dive tours and teaching classes. They are pretty indestructible, but I have worn out a set in the last ten years, due to coral scrapes, and wreck cuts. Thanks to ebay, I run across a set from time to time, and have two extra sets, just in case. Aloha Turtleguy9 Roger

Hi Roger, The SuperStag fins were my next mods into the scoop fins, and I still have them. They worked very well. These are the ones I used in the Air Force, and continued to use for years. Last year, I finally broke a strap, and semi-retired them when I went to the Plana Avanti for my scoop modification. But they lasted for 30 years, and with another strap, will continue to be active. These are the SuperStag fins with the scoop modification that I was wearing in the early to mid 1970s: Photos by Bruce Higgins John
