Mares Cartoon Guide to Skin and Scuba Diving - in Croatian

I know I haven't posted in a while, but when I spotted the above I immediately thought of JB and his interest in diving-related comic books. The captions and speech bubbles are in Croatian, one of the languages spoken in the former Yugoslavia, where the founder of Mares sub, Ludovico Mares, was born and reared before moving to Italy and setting up his diving equipment company. The page is one of seventy-five in the original publication entitled abc ronjenja and freely viewable and downloadable online when you click the link. Hope the resource is of some interest! Plenty of vintage Mares gear on display.

My wife has a bee in her bonnet to go to Croatia: she's heard time and again that it's one of the best places to dive in the world! The food is supposed to be amazing too

Hi JB,

Croatia was one of my first diving places and the first place (Porec in the North) to be a diving instructor. Make sure, that you travel the south - the more south you are, the cleaner the water.... And if you head for the north, visit Piran in Slowenia. There is a very nice vintage diving museum.... Don´t talk about the food - you have to taste it. Lot´s of meat, if you like it.
