First off thank you for approving me to the page. I have been diving for 20 years but new to the double hose. I acquired a Healthways Deluxe looks to be in good shape but needs some rebuild. Any advice on what to replace, what hoses and mouth lice is best and any upgrades to make it breathe well. Al interested in adding low and high pressure ports. Thanks

Firstly, welcome! As this is a single stage regulator, you can't add anymore ports to it You can get a new diaphragm for it at the Scuba Museum. You can make a very simple yet excellent upgrade for it: vintagescuba.proboards.com/thread/6102/jaybirds-snorkel-healthways-scuba-regulatorsI'm sure others will have good input for you, so I will let them do so, but this is the place for all things Healthways, so you're in very good hands! Hello healthways single stage, scuba, deluxe, and gold label are very well construct. I only changed the o ring. In my opinion standard hose with hourglass mouthpiece from THE SCUBA MUSEUM is efficient, and confortable, hose in silicone are very flexible and non putrescible ( almost indestructible), but they come close from years, neoprene hoses stay a bit more away. Changing the original diaphragm, for a silicone is also a good way to have better performance. Enjoy your DH

Chad,
Welcome to the group! While I mentioned it on FB, I'm going to repeat it here for any who happen across this thread. The Healthways DH regs are all single stage... which is great for reliabililty, but does not have an intermediate pressure. So LP taps off of it are not possible. For tank pressure management, I either dive them with a J-valve tank, or I have a couple tanks that the installed tank valve has an HP port that I can run a gauge off of. If I feel the need for LP accessories (octo or power inflator) I sling an AL19.
Respectfully,
James

Hi Chad! If this was mine, I'd have James make me a Hope-page (mouth piece) clone and use gas-mask hoses, cheap and easy, just like me... Some of the old HW tank valves have a high pressure port on them so there's that... Sherwood made a twin-post-valve if you're interested in using doubles: You can also get a Nemrod Y-valve: If you go this route, you'll want a 3rd generation USD Calypso to run your HP and Octo... The Dacor C-3 in my image is a small reg so I was able to put a Healthways Scuba Star next to it. If you're a glutton for punishment, like me, you can track down a Scubair-II: that can sit on on the Y-valve along side your Deluxe, as it doesn't protrude as far like the Scuba Star... JB

For the old 1 inch mouthpieces (Hope Page and such) most of us are using surplus gas mask hoses off Ebay. For USD hoses and mouthpieces I look at The Scuba Museum or Silent Explorers.

Also, Phil (vance) has original Hope-Page mouthpieces and various hose types for them. There is a recent posting in the buy sell trade section of this forum. I’d snag one of those while you can, I think you’d just need to buy the valves for it? ($12 for the hope-page valves, available from scuba museum) James and his printer and gas mask hoses will still be around for the inevitable future double hosers you add to the collection.
Getting a US Divers/Voit repro mouthpiece + new wagon wheels + new valves will run you 50-60 doll hairs. A H-P for 92 ish and you’ll have a sweet mouthpiece assembly that accepts a replaceable, modern mouthpiece among other nice features discussed in other threads
You’d also be able to use gas mask hoses and save 25-30 on hoses

I also have a couple of 3/4" "Y" valves available. These can be set up with an adapter which will fit most DH regs + a single hose setup for ports. PM me if interested.

Any J tank valve can be modified to accept an adapter kind of like this. There's a thread on here somewhere. The only difference is there's no second shut off valve on the mod shown in that thread.

Sorry for not saying it before, but welcome to the forum! It's great to have an increasing membership, rather than the alternative.
We may be growing slowly, but it's hopeful to older guys like me that we're growing at all!
Cheers, Phil
