Thanks for going to such trouble Fred, really useful information! So if a co-moulded poppet was supplied with a new smaller diameter bush it should fit both old and new style bodies?

Hello Good question, on the photos I try to show the difference between the first peacok model, and the silver, with there own LP seat. So I must try, to cross the LP seat, because if you look the second stage crow in the body they are not the same. I think that I finish the early peacock tomorrow, I will try both seat. Cheer's Fred

No I mean re-create the new style smaller diameter guide bush if it will fit into the old style body recess. The co-moulded poppet would then come as a replacement kit with the bush (LHS) Snark LP seat new vs old by fibonacci101, on Flickr

Got it. The cover/guides are identical except the hole diameter. Correction: At least some of the covers are different diameters.
It might make sense to make two poppets: one a standard co-molded, and another co-molded with a thicker post.
Seems like it'd be easier to make than the cover/guide? No plating needed.

Cheer's Fred I doubt there's much difference in the volcanos. Either seat should work in early and late, as long as the guide/cover matches the poppet stem.

Actually the guide bushes are much more straightforward and cheaper to make, just CNC machine and satin nickel plate. The poppets would need the X shaped piece sintered, then CNC machined for the shaft, then the shaft assembled (staked or pressed in) then placed individually in a mould while the silicone rubber is shot around it. Not economic to make two assembly and mould tools for each shaft diameter.

I remembered making an internal guide/cover and an old style poppet for a Silver I had. I just looked back in my photo files and found it. It was a Silver with the peacock top. It gets confusing with the different styles that have the same name and the ones that are the same style but have a different name.

The question I have about the covers for the early, peacock Silver in the post just above is, are they the late Silver diameter or the earlier Snark III diameter?
I don't have the regulator any more, so I can't check it.

Hello Phil, IMG_20231018_212304_572 by Patrick Michel, sur Flickr This is a silver peacock with new style LP seat, I place a hold style to compare. (The old style is coming from a snark super) This silver first generation had already the large diameter Cheer's Fred
