Save your money Jamie.....in about a year or so you will able to upgrade your old doublehose DA or Ram to function with the singlehose crowd for around 350 clams......hang in there..........

...Which sold for more than a new one from Scubastore, brand new,...What's up with that? ebay bidding fever. Some people never learn to research what the item costs new (or should cost used) or to even decide their maximum bid before they get caught-up in the heat of a bidding war with some other bidder that wants it almost as bad as they do.

Your correct there, but remember there are people out there bidding high because they have a choice and can afford to blow off cash.

I DONT want my doublehose to function with the single hose crowd. Why would I bastardize a vintage regulator just to dive with some rules freaks. Why would I change my 56 navy DA, or Broxton? If they dont like it, let them lump it. That would be like putting a computer in my 67 chevelle convertible. Ill never do it.

I do not want to miss a chance on a dive boat trip anywhere in the world, by having some know it all DiveMaster twit telling me I can not dive with a doublehose because it does not have a bc hose or octopus, etc ,etc add nausiuem......
The Luis nozzle, when it's available will be the first step in solving that problem.......
I would not convert all DA's or RAM's that I owned, just the one.......So I can dive anywhere at any time I D$%^&m well please with out some static from some young punk.........

However, paying more for something used then you can buy it for new (no matter how deep your pockets are) is never very wise. Finally, almost everything comes back up for sale again. IMHO, it's rare that those deep pockets really need to come into play unless you really, really want it (then the deep pockets come in handy).

Somehow I have an octapus and an LP inflator running off my number one RAM. It turned out nice, streamlined and efficient. The thing is that the wondeful banjos don't work with every valve on my number one RAM because of the depth of the heavy yoke. That will be solved by Luis new nozzle. The LP and octapus will still have to come off the Hookah just like both me and Luis currently do with an adapter and swivel. My number two RAM and and Square Label Ram have deeper yokes and the banjos work on most all valves except for the DIN convertable types----those may be a problem. Luis new nozzle will probably be convertible to DIN?? James

An item is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. I kept missing the RAms on ebay as the price was 400 plus. I finaly got a sqaure label for under 200 and it was in really great shape.
Patience is needed and the ability to hold the vision of that which you want, and it will come to you. I put a new old stock RAM nozzle into the square label RAM, and used the old ram nozzle into one opf my DA with a conshelf seat and pin done up from Bryan. Both are excellent breathers. Had to tweak the IP a bit, but she is smooth and delivers huge volumes of air on demand

Hi
Don't feel bad you could have purchased a titanium version for $1800. I still dive my Nemrod to 135' with no problem. I think the concern is that most of us see our collection as old vintage things of the past and have this idea embedded in our heads that they will not work at depth. believe me folks old twin hose regulators are fantastic if you take the time to carefully set them up to optimum working specs. Enjoy.
