I'm really anxious to try out the 3D boxed Dacor 4/800 conversion. Unfortunately, the boxes arrived too late for this season.
I'm sure it's going to be a great performer as the venturi shot down the intake is unobstructed, unlike with the metal boxes, and the DBE is an awesome addition. The other cool thing about these 3D boxes is that you can also use a Titan II body, which I will also try out.
I tried sanding the horns just to make sure there's no leak around the hose cuffs, but it isn't easy to get a smooth surface, unlike the resin parts. If there's seepage, some filler (bondo?) might be the way to go?
I'm going to paint them (or JB is, hopefully) so different colored filler won't show. I'll slap a Dacor 2020 label on this one although it'd be nice to change the name. Having new labels made for a one-off means you have 24 more.
I might want to commission a new label for a Dacor 3D boxed Titan II. I like the way the foil labels look and I know a guy....
Maybe we should have a naming contest? The winner gets a free label for the fridge?

Phil, how big is the label on those? Is it two-inches like the other ones?

JB I'm not Phil, but the printed C3 style exhaust can has a 2.55 inch diameter surface to work with... there isn't any inset for a label, so it would be up to Phil to glue it in place centered. Not sure how much of that real estate he wants as label, though. Best, James

Just to be clear, I'm referencing a DWE Dacor box set with Titan II first and custom VTP second stages installed. I'm going to think about the modded Dacor 400/DWE Dacor boxes combo label, too.
The Trieste label I bought is just over 2". I think that looks best. How about a mashup of the Dacor and Trieste labels since they are very similar?
The Dacor Titan? Or does Dacor have a Titan....? Do I care?
It'll need to have Deathwish Engineering/VTP Mods on it. Here's an approximation of what I have in mind. 2" circle.
Deathwish Engineering VTP Mods DACOR TITAN 2 Stage DoubleHose Regulator Rev1 Serial #/_____/ Made in USA
The slashes on the serial would be a rectangular space for a serial starting with 001.
Just an idea!

The mention of Sunfish reminded me about the other day, when I was walking on Del Monte Beach in Monterey. Once again, as in years past, I saw the Sunfish carnage left by Sealions.
Sealions delight in playing with Sunfish, then tearing the fins off of them, and letting them wash up on the beach like a bunch of frisbees. To add insult to injury, the gulls go at them, eating their eyes.
Nature, red in tooth and claw, eh?

Mola/Sunfish are weird lookin' for sure, but they are totally bad@$$: they don't have scales or air-bladder, and are super deep divers, feeding at 200-meters!
