I recently picked up one of the oddest sets of twin tanks I've ever seen. They are a set of French aluminum tanks dated 1953 but these were common in France at the time (the French were ahead of us in scuba tank technology). What is unique about these is that they have all the US Divers stampings including the "1045 Broxton Ave L.A. CALIF" and they have a US Divers manifold dated 1954 and part of the original 1 inch blue harness. These tanks have metric threads and so they have an adaptor bushing in them to allow the use of the 1/2 inch pipe thread manifold. I have never seen these listed in any US Divers catalog from the early 1950's and yet these had to be sold by US Divers. Can anyone share anymore information on these twins? Dan ? ?

does not olook like they have serial numbers, which may put them into the experimental category, being alluminum, and non magnetic, could they be experimental tanks for the french navy. Last time I sold sanitized gear was to military, no serial numbers.

It's been suggested that these tanks may have been used by the US Navy, perhaps as non-magnetic tanks for the UDT. The USN did not get US made aluminum tanks until around 1954. But I wonder why they have all the US Divers stampings.....
