I wonder; were any of the Healthways recalled with this issue? JB Hey, JB. I don't know what HW regulator would have this issue. It's all about a space that could allow the seat to move under pressure. I've encountered this problem with my modded second stages. You have to retain the seat somehow. However, I don't know of another first stage with this problem.

Phil, earlier in the thread, as well as mentioning several times before in other threads, the Healthways Scubair + B and II share the exact same internals as these Calypsos: they are interchangeable. This is the only reason I was asking the question.

No disrespect intended here, JB.
I understand that you have mentioned that. You might know something I don't.
I've never actually seen one of those first stages (as far as I know). I would be very interested to see one.
However, using the same internals doesn't necessarily mean that the first stage bodies are the same. There are many examples of USD firsts that use the same internals but have very different bodies.
As mentioned, the problem here is the unstopped space that might allow the seat to move upward under pressure. Maybe HW understood the issue and corrected it in their first stages? IDK.
I'd need to see the drawings.

Hello, Two weeks ago, I do a dive with my Calypso IV, with a castle washer made by Phil inside, a real pleasure, a good regulator. This reg was navy approved. IMG_6209 by Patrick Michel, sur Flickr IMG_6208 by Patrick Michel, sur Flickr

I see that my Scabamaster and my AIR I/Mark V (5-port swivel) faired well. It had yet to be approved by the U.S. Navy, but we needed a single hose regulator, and so they were local purchased for our use. John
