Hello to all. I'm brand spanking new here but this seems like a good place to start.
I have a Royal Aqua Master regulator with documentation that I'm planning on selling. It appears to be in excellent shape (no pits or dents and the hose & mouth-piece look good too). I bought it at a garage sale along with the documentation, a few years ago, from an ex Navy diver. I thought about having it looked at and using it myself but I never have time to dive anymore. I'm going to have a garage sale in a couple of weeks and I plan on gettig rid of it. Any idea on what something like this might be worth (price range?)?

It's worthless, send it to me and I will dispose of it for you.
I would say without seeing pictures of it $250 to 350. Exactly what is the documentation you have? You said you bought it from a ex Navy diver. Offically the Navy never had the Royal AquaMaster in its inventory, so any documentation to that effect may be bogus. It is possible it was his personal regulator, not offical Navy property.

Unless you get lucky, it probably won't fetch a decent price at a garage sale. Slap it up on ebay, and you'll probably make more.

I'd love to buy it from you. My wife would shoot me though. I was watching one on ebay last week and it went for about $350.00. There are two square label RAM's for sale on this site at $475.00 and $565.00 respectively. These have been gone through and are ready to dive. Anyone with any sense buying this would send it in and have it serviced or service it themselves. So if you take the cost of servicing from these regs you can arrive at a price to shoot for.

Thanks to all, for the replies.
I guess maybe I'll avoid selling it at the G-sale and use Ebay. I haven't had it serviced but I'll check on the cost. I'm fairly handy but being that I have never serviced a regulator before (or seen it done) AND since it's a critical piece of equipment, I'll see what a professional will charge and either fix and sell or just sell as-is. FYI, the documentation consists of two sheets of instructions, nothing fancy. I've kept them in a folder so they wouldn't get bent or torn.
Regarding the Navy portion of this. I bought it at a G-sale from a guys wife. She told me the story that her husband used to be a Navy diver and this was his regulator. My assumption was that he used it in the Navy but I could be wrong.

As a ships force diver on a submarine, we went open purchase to a local dive shop and bought pretty much whatever we wanted. Standard items like Conshelf regs and rocket fins could be ordered thru supply but was avoided where possible.

I'll see what a professional will charge and either fix and sell or just sell as-is. Whether you have it serviced or not, don't mention that it is diveable on your auction. It could lead to all kinds of liability nightmares. You just never know. Make sure you include a disclaimer on your auction. FYI, the documentation consists of two sheets of instructions, nothing fancy. I've kept them in a folder so they wouldn't get bent or torn. Is there any way you could post a copy of the sheets here for us? It would be nice to have a set.

Good thought. Thanks.
I'm not sure of what the copywrite protection states on it but if there is none, I'll see what I can do about posting a copy of the sheets.

Standard items like Conshelf regs and rocket fins could be ordered thru supply but was avoided where possible. Things like this did happen, but the Navy didn't officially support everything that was open purchased either. My experience was that the Inspectors frowned upon such dive equipment during their inspections.

I frown on inspectors, thats why I do everything myself.
