I've been told that there was "balance kit" available at one time, for the Nemrod Snark III two hose regulator. Has anybody heard of such a kit, or had any experience with one? I like the regulator overall (if you exchange the hose and mouthpiece assembly for a U.S. Divers) and a balanced first stage would really improve performance...

I have a snark III super with USD mouthpiece & hoses. I have been thinking of changing the hoses & mouthpiece back to the original style. Is there a problem doing this? The only thing I've heard is that the cages & valves are almost non-existant. (at least I haven't found any).
I dive with it occationally, so, I don't want to do anything that would diminish the performance. However, I do think it should look as authentic as possible.

Dan,
I have not heard of a balanced Nemrod Snark III first stage. Because of the upstream nature of the second stage, I don't know that the small change in interstage pressure would affect the performance much anyway.
Bsea,
If it is performance you are thinking about, then keep the USD hoses/mouthpiece system for the Snark III. The Nemrod system has smaller cages, and longer hoses. Putting original hose/mouthpiece system on the Snark III will decrease the performance, especially if you get an older one from the 1960s.
