Hi I am new to the board and was wondering if diving with a US Divers KMB 10, be classified as vintage diving ??

If it is pre 1975, it would meet the definition of most vintage divers (including Nemrod).
I can't remember if US Divers KMB 10 is pre 1975, but I believe it is.
I dove a USD Kirby Morgan Band mask in the early 70's, but I don't remember the model numbers.

Hey, don't pick on me---lol-----I did not pick 1975, Gomez told me that was the cutoff date and I believed him. Are we suggesting it is some other time frame? To quote a recent movie, "them rules are not actually rules but just sorta guidelines." If we call it 1980 then I am changing my name to TeknaMan, I got a fleet of Tekna gear, scooters, weight belts, regulators, knife, lights, guages---my most complete brand outfit.
Vintage or not, if you like it and it is safe then by all means dive it and enjoy it, good luck with it, post some pics too.

I've been diving since 1959...what does that make me? Concerning the KMB-10, I consider that "modern." Think of it, full-face mask, single hose regulator integrated into the mask, communications probable (why else have a KMB-10?)...if it is not "modern," it was certainly ahead of its time. John

it was certainly ahead of its time. John I agree that it was certainlly ahead of its time, but I still feels that it comes from a vintage time period (just my opinion).

Here's a little history about the KMB 10 from the Kirby Morgan website: So it appears that the first KMB 10 was availabe in 1975 but not prior (for what it's worth).

First dove at Ft Lauderdale in august of 56. A stupid kid. But got the bug. certified in 73. First "legal" dive in early 73 at Blue Spring florida. Its still my favorite spot. About worn out, and still do some stupid stuff! Oh yes, in 56 that was in the pool of the "merriweather motel. I was 10 years old. Went back there last year and its all changed. The Merriweather is gone, but the ocean is still there. Memories havent changed though.
