Well after sorting through nearly 3000 photos I finally have the Flashback Scuba Museum up and running at www.flashbackscuba.com. This is still a work in progress. I will eventually have descriptions and information on all of the equipment as well as strories from divers and crew members. I will also be adding a general diving history section. You will have a chance to see the collection in person in Chicago at Ourworld Underwater 2007. For more info visit www.ourworldunderwater.com I will have two booth spaces to exhibit the collection and I will be delivering two presentations as well. I hope you enjoy and let me know what you think. -Ryan

Hi Ryan, I had thought from some of the posts that you had built reproductions but from the recent photos on www.flashbackscuba.com it is hard to tell what you have produced versus the real thing. I noticed you have the original pitch book for the television series. Is your collection based on reproductions or real items?

My collection is almost entirely original equipment. I did make a replica of the Hydrodynamic Housing and helmet. It is molded from original parts. I have not been able to locate any complete originals. The Cousteau Society only had parts in the warehouse when I was there. Some of the photos on the site are from the Cousteau Societies collection. When I finish all the text portion of the site everything will be labeled with details and which collection they are from . The pitch book is a very rare item the images were provided to me by the auction house that recently sold the original. The original sold for 7K+. The photos are the only record besides the original. There are no known copies of the book, and the current owner is unknown. There are 13 original watercolor illustrations in the book. I would love to get a complete record of what is in the book some day. -Ryan

Hey Ryan, Ive tried to email you several times but I don't seem to be getting any answer. For a while you had something about vintage wetsuits. I don't see it on your site anymore but I did come across it on googlethe other day. Are you still considering offering them? The Museum is KILLER!

The wet suits are no longer available. I never made any money and the interest was low. If you want a custom suit contact www.wetwear.com they made the suits. They are tremendous and they use real neoprene not the super stretchy blends that all the major companies use. Combine the high quality neoprene with a custom tailored fit and you have the longest lasting lowest compression suits available. They can make just about anything. The c-Shell housings are not available because I have absolutely no time to produce them. I do have some fiberglass parts in stock but they have to be detailed and assembled. If I can I would like to finish the ones I have this winter. The museum and information portions of the site are top priority for me now. The other projects require time and money that is not currently available. Thanks for the interest. -Ryan
