Hi,
I have finally finished refurbishing a Nemrod Snark III, it breathes good, looks good (now), works fine so far besides the bad taste the air has. Somehow the Air tastes like rubber or plastics smell sometimes. I have cleaned the nemrod and mothpiece an ultrasonic cleaner. Does anyone have an idea or know if there is any chance to get that taste out of it or will I have to exchange mouthpiece and hoses?
Thanks, /cr

DiOs,
Try scrubbing the rubber pieces with antibiotic soap and warm water. Use a bottle brush to really scrub the inside of the hoses. It seems like you have some breakdown products of the rubber inside that have not been removed. Twist the bottle brush as well as pushing it through the hoses and back to make sure the bristles really scrub the insides of the convolusions of the hose.
I have not heard of using an ultrasonic cleaner on the rubber pieces before, and am not sure if that would be effective either, as nothing is removed when you use ultrasound (it is vibrated away from the rubber, but not removed that way). Rince out the hoses really well after the scurb, again with water passing through, then take the hoses outside and swing them hard to remove water from the inside. Let the hoses dry at least overnight before trying them on the regulator. Good luck.

DiOs.....
After the antibiotic wash, if the smell is still there, wash again with either simple green or baking soda..........let soak for a bit (15 minutes should do) and then rinse really good......shake like SeaRat stated and let dry..............
