I did a little helium unscrambler development back in the 70's and want to kick off a hobby of collecting information (and gear) on the old "air radios" used by any form of surface supplied diving gear. Obviously the starting point is a rope used by the tender to yank you right off the stage, but after that, there must have been a series of early comm boxes in both the civilian and Navy Mk V world prior to the early Helle boxes. So far, this search has been tough, and I would appreciate info that any of you might have. Thanks Glenn

iN REGARDS TO YOUR REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ON COMMUNICATION BOXES, IF YOU CHECK ANY US NAVY DIVE MANUAL PER 1970, THEY WILL HAVE PICTURES AND INFO ON THESE BOXES. MORSE DIVING COMPANY IN ROCKLAND MA, ALSO HAS AN OLD CATALOG (REPRINT) FROM 1937 WHICH WOULD HAVE ALL THIS TYPE OF INFO. CRAFTSWELD (NY) ALSO MADE SOME COMM BOXES FOR COPPER HELMETS. DESCO, DIVING EQUIPMENT SUPPLY COMPANY, MILWAULEE WI ALSO MADE THESE FROM THE 1940'S ON.

Excellent sources and info ... Thank you. I have several versions of the Navy DM, but will contact Morse and Desco. I had not heard the Craftsweld name before, so good lead. Thx Glenn
