How's everybody doing? I know, the weather is great and y'all are out diving instead of hanging around the computer. Did anyone do anything fun this weekend? Dan is already in Minnesota, preparing for Wazee which is coming up fast! I stayed here to "mind the store". I wish I could be there, but it's tough for us to leave the biz unattended. Me.... I mostly worked this weekend, but I did go to Brookings (Oregon coast) on Thursday. I threw a crab trap in off the jetty, but didn't get anything.

Ahoy Linda, After I saw the posts on the USD Professional Triple Tanks (FJ-3), I went and checked the dates on my set which I have owned since 1960, the valves all are 8-57, two of the tanks have a 1-57 original stamp and one has a 10-56 stamping, I had them hydroed and parkerized by Walter Kidde in 10-63 and had the air fill (1800) in them until early this year when I torn them down and inspected them "they look like new' said the Hydro guy " I'll give you $100.00 for them" I'll get back to you about that,I replied. I've also have been assembling a USD Two-Stage Regulator Display for my trip to Portage Quarry, Do I have to wait until Sunday to show stuff?
I do have a big box of trading/sell of Fenzy Vests and parts to bring, any interest in these things?Magazines?
are you guys going to be there? I thought about going last year but had another Photo project come up, so I'm going to head that way this year and see some OLD friends and see some new ones.

Hi Linda, Ok, I got to confess, I didn't go to church today. I went to view Gods underwater creation !!! I just got back from diving in the Feather River and then eating at the Boss Burger (99 cent and all the toppings you can fit on them on sundays; buckets of peanuts at the tables, and a tenth of a mile from where we dive), Great dive, vis was about 15 feet (they are letting water out of the dam) and is was a warm 58 degrees so I just wore a shorty (same one in the picture of my avatar). I like wearing a shorty cause I don't have to wear a weight belt. About a thousand King Salmon up by the fish barrier dam, and the tourist watching the salmon got to see divers also! Had a Great time. What ever happened to the idea of a west coast wazee? Once I get some pictures developed from todays dive, I'll post them so everyone can see how much of a great time I had! I was the only one diving vintage gear, though. Robert I mentioned peanuts ... reminds me of when I went to logans steak house, ordered a diet coke, set down at the bar and watched the football game; then, asked the wiatress tor a container to go and filled it with peanuts !!! That was the second time I did that ... Lucky they didn't kick me out !!! ;D

Well it sounds like everyone is plenty busy! Frans, Dan told me you took some money from him. I was surprised! He's usually got a lot of card luck. Maybe he'll win it back next time. Sorry, no Portage for us. It would be hard to ever attend that event, since it's always back to back with Wazee. I know that's convenient for most folks, I would think, but Dan can only afford so much time away before the business begins to suffer. We hope to meet you another time, though. Robert, we would still like to do a West Coast Wazee, definitely... We just haven't firmed up anything yet. Seems like we wait and wait for a break in our already established obligations, and it never comes. We'll just have to bite the bullet and plan it one of these days. In the meantime, I would love to try one of those Boss Burgers sometime. Yum! Chuck, I could use a belt of Old Hawk myself. How's Patches? Dave, you sound like me. At least the work keeps us out of trouble.

spent quality time on the tractor, got chased by bees, dreamed of getting my *** out of here someday while being chased by bees!
Then I try to get ready for Wazee, hope I make it.

Saturday I test dove a scooter I bought. Dove my favorite DA Aquamaster as well. Had a ball! Theres nothing quite like double hose diving on a scooter. While the scooter battery compartment flooded, the DA performed flawlessly. Wish I was packing for Wazee, but I'll have to hold out for a west coast version. If you guys need any help getting one organized, I'm ready & willing.

Welp, I did go to church today, but spent yesterday out sailing on the SF Bay (pretty saucy winds!) and am planning to head to Monterey for a vintage dive tomorrow morning.
Just picked up a Nikonos V and strobe on ebay this week and am looking forward to getting it wet - Too bad it hasn't arrived yet. Im thinking that the photos will look coolest if I shoot on Ektachrome or Kodachrome 64. Too bad the Kodachrome 25 isn't around anymore...
I just finished watching an episode of Flipper - - THAT is the life I want!
I am starting my teaching credential program in a few weeks so Im not sure when I will be able to set up a Catalina meeting - That's the dream though! I have a couple of weeks off if anyone is feeling REALLY spontanious...

James, I got stung by a yellowjacket, about two weeks ago. On the upper lip, no less!! I looked like a duck for a few days. Dan is bringing your uncut duckbills to Wazee. If for some reason things change and you can't make it, I can ship them from here. Dale. I think Dan took a scooter to Wazee? Someone or other usually has one there. I bet James will take one! Anyway, sounds like you had a blast yesterday. We'll see you at West Coast Wazee, when we do it... We need to think of a better name, though.

Saturday I worked from 7:30am till 1:00 PM; came home and cleaned out the van. Sunday I went over to Crystal Lake and got in a dive with my USD DA Aquamaster which is now set up with a Phoenix nozzle; came home and spent some time relaxing in the pool with my wife Roxann. During the weekend I also began to start getting things together for Wazee so I can be ready to head out early on Thursday morning. Sure looking forward to seeing everyone there. Sorry I won't get to meet you again this year Linda; but we all sure appreciate you holding down the fort. Terry
