Thanks buddy! I'm hopin' to dive it tonight at the Oakland High School pool. I think I'll start with the Divair, then the Gold-label, then the Deluxe. I won't be using the Scuba, original version, as I don't have a duckbill for it yet, but I'm working on solving that problem too!

Oh, here's what Rob said on the listing:
"This is the third version of the cool art deco style Divair double hose regulator. The hoses are log gone but available for sale at thescubamuseum and vintagedoublehose. You get everything u see in the pics including the hard to find hope page mouthpiece. It comes to u barn fresh, as it has NOT been cleaned in anyway. Assume the diaphragm is crispy and perished and not usable. This reg is rare and you should not expect to dive it. I only know a few people that have dived one recently. It is the first USA designed and made two hose reg and as such it an important part of history. You will ge all 4 tinnermans as well"
Oh and this really made me laugh:
Q: Ok. Will you take $130 for listing and hoses? A: NO
WTF! How greedy can you get, well I guess you can't blame them for tryin'... sure ya can!

Jaybird, go ahead and dive the original SCUBA without the duckbill. The exhaust diaphragm will work in most positions without the duckbill. Also, the original SCUBA was first marketed without the duckbill, then after some feedback, put it in. You can get a good idea of what it was like before the duckbill was introduced into this regulator. I have dived it that way, both in the pool and in open water.

John, I forgot to mention... I don't have a diaphragm for it, I put it in the Gold Label... If I had more time, and better lighting, I might try swappin' out the diaphragms... at the pool! The Deluxe is hotrodded anyway, with this little gem: I'm really wanting to see how well it works Jaybird

More tomorrow, but... they all worked really, really well. The Divair was silky-smooth, although it floods pretty quickly with no exhaust valve: I'm still learning to clear my hoses...

I really liked the way the Divair breathed: with very little restriction, except for the non-return valves, it was very hard for me, personally, to pick which was better! I think the Gold-label gave you the most air, but only marginally between the three. I think one reason why the Divair worked so smooth is that the home made diaphragm is very thin, making it exceptionally sensitive for what it is. I didn't take it past six feet, so I expect the breathing characteristics will change at greater depth, but I was pleasantly surprised, as most people say it only breathes OK. I'd like to make a duckbill for it, or maybe something else, because the flooded exhaust hose is a bit bothersome while you're trying to compare three regulators...

Now I see why Sitka Dave was so interested about the Tinnerman clamps on Don's DA! Gosh, they're pretty swell: you take them off with a slot tip screwdriver and put them back on with a regular pliers. They come off fast and go back on just as easy. I see that they are still available too: I may need to get a bunch for most of my DH's: all except the VCR-5 which has the original Voit clamps... I like the way you only need to undo one set of clamps with the Hope-Page mouth piece, those securing them to the regulator. The rings also make a great handle while you spin them around, getting rid of excess water, after cleaning. When we moved into our house we got a bunch of brushes and brooms, etc. left by the old owners. One of them is a super swell hose brush, it's about 20-inches long and one-inch wide, this is ideal for scrubbing the inside of the hoses after diving. The spiral Healthways hoses are super easy to clean: get everything wet, then screw the brush into the hose, then unscrew and rinse. The stretchy La Spirotechnique hoses, as seen here: take a bit more time, lots of pushing and pulling to get the brush in and out... Jaybird

Dang that's a weird image! The regulator is upside down, an' the shoulder straps are just dangling from their shoulders! The girl in the checkers, with the nice lipstick, has a Hope Page, which is again, upside down: the yoke screw and the HP are what I noticed, DIVAIR, plus the white mouthpiece!!!! YUMMMMY!

JB, Here are some pics of my newest acquisition. Haven't received it yet, so I'm guessing these pics are showing it's "good side". Yikes! There's a job ahead of me! Phil
