Huh, I went to create a "dump-site" for our images, but they want too much info from me that I don't like to give out: so, how do we want to create it? TICK, TICK, TICK, TICK...

Okay, here's what I suggest: for those of you who would like a calendar made you can have it made here: www.cafepress.com/+calendarsI am willing to fix people's art for them, cropping, touch-ups, adding text or let them use some of my images. Please PM me and we can get things done through e-mail. We should have started this months ago to get it done in a timely manor. Also, since art is VERY subjective, we should have had a vote as to whose art would be on it. At Cafe Press you can custom make a calendar with your choice of images, so PM people to see if they will let you use their work. One of the big problems is having a dump site, and then sharing a password: one person is ultimately responsible for it, and shared passwords can get in the hands of unscrupulous persons who will do who knows what with them... Perhaps next time we can dump them on this site for a short time, as printed art can get REALLLLLLLLLLLLY big in file sizes, my guess is 12 images are going to be about 25+ MEG's, or even 30. Sorry to be a bummer gang... Jaybird

Just weighing in on it...
I like the idea of a calendar; hope it gets made; definitely want one.
Got no problem making images with graphics myself, but don't see as I'd have anything to contribute because (1) the old Leagues pics are all Disney's, and (2) my Leagues rigs are replicas, not vintage. I could put together a picture of an authentic Disney (written provenance and that's unique) crowntop helmet and boots if you guys want that. Undecided, myself. It is vintage SCUBA, but it speaks more to Disney and SciFi than it does vintage SCUBA, y'know? Up to you guys. LMK.
I could put together a picture of the Mystery Rig and another Rene "winebottle" with vintage regulators on 'em. Don't know how great it would be but I could try. How would that be?
BTW: that's a great regulator shot, Jaybird; and Linda I have always thought you were an excellent artist and really like your paintings. I would think all that kind of thing would be appropriate to the calendar.
Anyway, I hope this comes together and if you do it I would buy one. I'll watch your progress. Good luck with it.

- I've been trying to make my own calendar on Photo Bucket in which they have "mosaic" themes that have three different size/shape picture frames for each month. With the cover, it's 40 pictures. I got them all loaded in but my photos are all cropped too close to the image... So there's no flexibility for zooming or moving the photos to fit the frames. - The photos need significant white space around them for this "mosaic" theme to work and the photobucket editor doesn't seem to have this capability. If I'm going to re-edit all the pictures, I can just as well include other people's pictures. - I have mostly double hose regulator pictures but if anyone wants to send me photos for possible inclusion, PM me for my email address. Remember there's frames for three pictures... So something like the yellow Totes suit could have a picture of an old advertisement and a modern diver, or a close up of part of the suit or logo, etc. I'm looking to put the pictures into the "Modern Mosaic" themed calendar at Photo Bucket. Holy Cats They're $30 Apiece!- I just put together a Photo Bucket calendar with the photos I have and ran it through the checkout process... They are $29.95 each and I priced it for 1-30 calendars with no discounts... 50 calendars is $1500. Geez! I say Forget It... I can print out and paste my own pictures on any 2015 calendar.

- Insty Prints will do calendars from $10 each in qty of 10 or more. And they probably deliver in 1 day. I can email my pictures to them as PDFs.

Jaybird,
As you know, I have a lot of images. Do you want them to represent the diving equipment, or divers actually diving?

Hmmm, I think equipment, but this is only my opinion... I was just wondering how is this going to help Michael? So, say we do get a calendar printed, there isn't anything set up so that he will get anything from it: how are we gunna do that eh? OPINIONS PLEASE!

OPINIONS PLEASE! Jaybird I just did a short calculation, and for 3,000 posts, at ten minutes each, is 30,000 minutes, or 500 hours. Wow, but that has been going on for many, many years. What about this Broxton Green Label DA Aqualung for the calendar? I actually have it with a metal mouthpiece now, and so could re-take the photo at high resolution too. John

Could you shoot it on a blanket or sheet: that would give it a more aesthetic feel? Also, closer and lower: that label should be what we're seeing, or to put it in another light: imagine if Betty was only seen from the wast up: Just as her posterior is what made this image, the label is what really sets this reg apart, 'cause ya can't see what's inside Jaybird

John, would you please e-mail me the image you want to use: I want to doctor up that label... I always forget that those USD labels get pretty beaten up. I won't change much, I just want to make it more readable, a "dodge and burn" as they say in photography Oh, and if you'd like any text, please let me know! Jaybird

Maybe this could end up being a 2016 calendar idea. IT could be a contest and have 12 winners of a prize from VSS and maybe even get donated prizes from scuba vendors. Other ideas would be a fund raiser to benefit a ocean or marine wildlife charity. Just some ideas.....

- Nice Sportsways 42s and Hydro Twin II kgehring! - The content of your photo suggests to me that we ought to have at least one of you guys that have museums be in charge of what should and should not be in the calendar. Just reading through the posts in this discussion, I can tell everybody has a different idea... I was picturing it with a different double hose regulator for every page. Others see it showing off various vintage dive gear. - I like your idea of making it a contest... Perhaps entrants could each submit just one picture... Their best picture composition of either their favorite equipment or their most historically significant or something like that? - P.S. Here are MY Sportways Twin 42s before and after pictures.
