I am looking for a 2015 calendar with photos of vintage gear. Has anyone purchased any of the options from cafepress.com? They don't show any examples of the pictures. Better yet...does anyone on this board make one?

What a great idea! I've got 12 great regulators and pictures of them. My collection is original Aqua Lung and Voit regs as well as modern Phoenix, Cyclone HPR, and Argonaut. It'd take some time to do such a thing right with not only photos but descriptions including brief history unique characteristics.

I think all the art work on cafe press is by Linda. At the very least she seems to have a grasp on the product line.
If you're wanting a custom calendar, all the photo sites like Flicker and PhotoBucket offer the service. As does any local drug store, photo store. All you have to do is select the photos.
Surflung, I am not sure how you add text to a photo. You may have to add the text and then save the file(s) to a flash drive and then take it to the store. Let us know if you do this and what is the easiest method.
Jaybird has taken some very nice Healthways photos that I wouldn't mind having on calendar. Maybe he can add some insight into the photo shopping and adding text portion.
I'm getting ahead of myself here: But if we collected some nice photos we could make the calendar and use any excess coin for a charity like St. Judes or something. Eben's Voits, Jays Healthways, Johns Sportsways and I have a very nice - all original Over Pressure I'd take photos of. Anyway, it's food for thought.

I'm working on some images... Here's a thought: what if we put a calendar together and the proceeds would go to Michael to build his Sea Wolf DHR?!?!?!? I don't mind donating more creativity Jaybird

I just went through Photobucket's Calendar app and it doesn't have provisions for adding text. I didn't order anything though. John

- If I need to add text to a photo, I usually do it with publishing software and then save it as a JPG file. BUT, we might be making this way more complicated than it needs to be. - How about we dispense with adding text. Just create a photobucket account for this project and let people upload whatever they want into it. Individuals could create their own custom calendar or if somebody wants to make up a bunch of identical calendars, the materials will be available right there.

If someone would like text on their image, please PM me: I am a professional graphic artist and can do this for you. We will need to do it through e-mail, as there is limited size on the board... not as good DPI!

Please read this as it talks about "DPI": www.mmprint.com/info-center/highres_photos.cfmBut in a nutshell: DPI stands for, dots-per-inch: the higher the DPI the better it will look printed. Standard screen resolution is between 72-100 DPI: this is for the images you are looking at right now. Print should be 300+ DPI: it’s high so that you can have very fine details in your images in magazines, calendars etc. You shouldn’t print from screen grabs; the DPI is not high enough. Yes, it is possible, but the result will be very unsatisfactory… Jaybird

John68, here ya go mate: I had to play with yer image, it was still really small, sorry! But, I was able to fake it pretty well: I beefed up the colors, especially the black in the label, so it would read and look the way it should, you can tell they're seals now. I also got rid of the wood table top in the image, it was too distracting, it took away from this "totally boss" old reg I'll e-mail you this larger image so you will see first hand what I'm talking about about file sizes... - Hey I am probably just missing it but, where should we send or upload pictures for possible inclusion in the calendar?

I'd be happy to contribute the following image, which happens to be already in the system: if for no other reason than there are more categories of vintage diving gear than regulators. The image shows a Golden Tiger Skooba-"totes" drysuit and a pair of Champion Hydromatic full-foot fins, both in matching "safety yellow." Incidentally, US Divers selected yellow as the "colour of the year" back in 1959. David
