Hello Vintage Scuba Proboards! I am a collector of Jacques Cousteau and have a small collection. I am looking for any episodes pertaining to Jacques Cousteau ex. The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau or The Cousteau Odyssey. If anyone has information on collecting or obtaining these episodes, I would be very grateful. P.S it does not matter if they are VHS or DVD. -technidiver

Ahoy matey! Have you watched the episodes on Youtube? Have you seen this: www.ioffer.com/i/the-undersea-world-of-jacques-cousteau-dvd-rod-serling-558397670?i=134678166I have a real fondness for the original TV-show as it was narrated by Rod Serling: he gave the show a real sense of sincerity that is missing from the others. It was a voice familiar to most people and was associated with all things mysterious. I really remember being glued to the set and looking forward with anticipation to any of he "specials" that would come on Now that I'm older, I see that Albert Falco was the guy to watch out for, although as an artist, when I saw André Laban painting under water, and actually having a real talent for it, I just about (expletive deleted) myself! Thank you Jaybrid! I will look into buying that set. It looks like a very good deal! I have watched quite a few episodes. You've probably heard of Ryan Spence's Flashback Scuba. It is quite a large collection of Cousteau related items. Mine, sadly, is not that big.

Every once in a while, you'll see an episode where they ain't usin' USD or Spiro gear, but other stuff like Poseidon or ScubaPro: I'll look over at my wife and say something like, "WOW, how did that happen!" Or you'll see the yellow tape coming off the fins in a few shots: I miss seeing shows like that...

If I'm correct, they used Cressi fins right? I forget which model though. I was watching the movie by Cousteau "Voyage to the edge of the World" and I remember seeing them use the Poseidon Cyclones with a full face mask. When I first saw "The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau", I fell into love with that gear INSTANTLY!

I wonder if they wetsuits they used when filming "The World Without Sun" are the same or similar to the ones they used in the 80s and 90s. I heard that the newer silver suits were made of G-231 neoprene. Here is a shot of a lobby card from "The World Without Sun".

Thanks fer geekin' out with me Here's the poster for the film: Tell me this ain't totally cool: One of the things I like best are mini-subs, not that I've ever been in one, but they're so boss! When I was living on the Central Coast (CA), I found one at Moro Bay, but never got a picture of it So I had to rebuild it in my memory, and this is what I got: It was a rusting hulk, fenced off, but I knew what it was. I hope it's still there next time I go back! JB

Wow Jaybird! It's amazing how you discovered all those pictures (thumbs up to the moving thumb picture). That's quite a detailed diagram of the SP-350 Diving saucer. Also interesting to see that other mini-sub. I have not clue as to what model it is. Still having no luck at uploading the picture of the lobby card. It has a date APR 14 1966. I'll just change my profile pic to the lobby card picture if I can.

I understand that Goentertain has a set of multiple DVD's and Blu-Rays, but sadly it can only ship to the U.K. The price is also quite steep. The only problem that I have with the ioffer deal is that it may be stolen material. I contacted the seller and asked if it was stolen/burned/copied material and they said that it is region free white DVD's in a white sleeve. Sounds a bit fishy to me... Here's the link to the Goentertain website. www.goentertain.tv/category/jacques-cousteau
