Phil, that looks nice, it's rare you find them in that good of condition. I was sorely tempted to make a joke about what mods you were going to do to it. Whoever gets this one will be very happy indeed JB

It is always a surprise when we get a old regulator, sometimes there are in great condition sometimes you asked yourself "WHY I GET THIS ..." but this one is a beautiful π dacor

I'm always on the look-out for something like that.
One of my favorite ever regulators was made out of a Fiat car horn! Don't forget I made a bottom can for a diluter conversion from a Costco chicken can.
One of those mic bodies might have legs!

The R-2 has a new home. Fred is going to finish working on it and take it for a spin later this year! I am super happy it's going to be used, rather than sitting in a crate.

Somehow I knew you were gunna get this one Fred I appreciate the fact that you want to dive it for it's historical context. That drawing is very accurate: all too often, you get a vague idea of how it works/what it looks like, but this one is to spec. JB EDIT: Fred, make sure you keep a very light coating of silicone grease on that label!!!!!!

Fred,
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how well this R-2 regulator breaths. It, in my opinion, is a bit better than the DA Aqualung (Broxton) for inhalation, but the U.S. Navy says the exhalation is not as good as the DA Aqualung. I did not notice a difference in exhalation.

Now that he took this on, Fred is going to find he's been saddled with some extra stuff he didn't sign on for when he opens the box!
I hope he enjoys making it work. I have no doubt that he will....

Thank a lot. many times there are extra gift that I really enjoyed. I like to work on regulator and discover how they are made. And it is truth, and amazing that the R Serie can be almost dismantled with a screwdriver Soon I begin a DACOR test session , R2, OLYMPIC, DACOR2020 with RM box. and not a dacor...the div air. I must make photos of the spiro twin that I hope dive in few weeks, after an hydro, the vanne are better place than the scubapro that I used now. I protect the label JB. Cheer's Fred
