Since I have plenty of spare time with the lockdown in place, I viewed the Vintage gear for sale section this morning. I found, and reported, two ads for vaping products and a link to E-bay "auctions". (PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR EBAY AUCTION ON THIS THREAD!!! It will be deleted!) I deleted one thread about a Sportsways regulator; I'll leave the other two to Vance, as I'm headed out on a walk. Thanks, John

I deleted the member, and banned the I.P.

Thanks, Linda. I deleted the posts John hadn't gotten to. The vape guy had to go.

Thanks, Linda. I deleted the posts John hadn't gotten to. The vape guy had to go. I found a vape-thingy at 22 feet under the Clackamas River, and had to ask one of the lifeguards post-dive what the heck it was? He told me, then asked to keep it as apparently there is something inside he could salvage. I let him, but thought it was a strange request. John PS, Chris and I had 8+ mile walk this morning, all on trails near our home. I'm healing well from my bike accident.

"Vape-thingy"? Good grief we're old. That's what I say when I get stuck with what to call something. And "Ya, I am that old." John

Looking ahead to when dive shops reopen and people without compressors can get their tanks filled, what will the filters on the compressor filter out? Specifically, what size is a covid-19 virus? Will it pass through the compressor’s filtration system? (Asking for a friend.)

CJ,
I'm not an expert on compressors (Terry may help here) or their filtration systems. My understanding is that the compressed air passes through multiple charcoal filters, and an oil separater. The CORVID-19 virus is a RNA molecule surrounded by a lipid (oil) membrane, which has all those protein spikes around it. It is very, very small, and may poss through the filters, but because of the pressures involved, and the heat, I doubt they would survive the journey. These little things (thingies???), while highly infective, need a specific environment to survive. I really doubt they can stay intact inside a compressed air environment. This seems to be confirmed:

John, again, thanks for the input: the heat alone should be enough to bake the little (expletive deleted) hopefully, but then that crushing pressure too... OK, that said, I need you to stop using such sophisticated technical jargon with words like "thingie"--just knock it off Ratliff, everyone knows your smart, so stop showing off! If you start quoting something like that of the theoretical physics of Max Planck I may have to drop out of this discussion altogether... JB

Trying to organize my dive locker somewhat. Today the theme was "tanks." Still have five 71.2's to find and my steel LP 95 (all likely buried in another portion of the garage/house/basement and/or boat). I got panicky when I couldn't find my twin HP steel 80s but then remembered I sold them last month. Memory ain't what it used to be. Now where did I put my glasses....

Your glasses are with your keys and tv remote.

Your glasses are with your keys and tv remote. Considering I found my glasses on my face I'm not sure your universal location theory works.

Your glasses are with your keys and tv remote. Don't forget to check in the freezer! That's where my shoes always end up being.
