Great job on the 'green' labels regs! Let's not forget there were 'orange' labels as well. Michel.

Do you mean the Orange label Navy?

I got a new Green repro label from Allan at Vintagescubasupply.com.
A friend has a laser engraver, and he kindly offered to inscribe my label with a serial #. I picked a random number, and he did it this morning. I am not trying to pass this off as original, but the label looks incomplete w/o a serial number.
I'll post a good photo soon.

Phil, I've often wondered if someone could use a hand punch tool to do this too. Alignment would be a bit tricky though...

I bought a set of punches, but decided I wasn't going to risk it, and I didn't want it to look original. Serendipitously, I met a guy with a laser etcher. The chrome over the brass got burned a little, but it looks ok by eye. I'd like to get the black residue off. It's a serial number is correct, but I'm not sure how to indicate this is not an original label. I will definitely warn anyone who buys this reg, but I hope I'm not causing future collectors to go nuts trying to figure it out.

I have some hollow rivets to attach the label to the box. They're way too long, so I need to figure out how to cut some of the tube off. They are tiny! I guess I need to buy a watchmaker's lathe!

My thought is that is you make a jig of sorts, drill some holes into a piece of metal that's the right depth, you can simply file/grind them down flush, then push them out again.
Where did you find/get them?

I got them from Jeff H up in Vancouver. He sent them to me off the cuff with some diaphragms. I don't know if/where I can buy shorter ones, but your idea is good. Far cheaper than a watchmaker's lathe. But I'd like one anyway....

I was thinking you could also use the same jig to deepen them if need be; that being if the don't go down far enough. You could use one of your tiny bits and a drill-press: I hope this makes sense?

The hollow in the rivets is not nearly deep enough. I cut the rivets down, using JB's idea, and just peened them over. They worked fine. The heads are flatter than the originals, but that's of little consequence to me. I can't seem to get a good photo of the label. This'll have to do.

Where’s a good place to get the rivets?
