Thanks for the update! Unfortunate that you can’t be there this weekend but tune into the Vintage Divers of Monterey California FB Page. We may be able to get a vintage group together.

Just finished up day one of the 1st Annual Vintage Diver's Extravaganza and Junk Excellent Pre-owned Equipment Trading Post. I was happy to meet several vintage enthusiasts from VSPBs, and watch them dive their stuff. The day was perfect. The water conditions improved as the day progressed, and should be good by tomorrow. I sold a Dacor C3N reg to a guy walking past, and there was furious trading in-house. Most everyone brought good stuff to tempt me with, but I refused to submit to most of the high priced goods, with a couple exceptions. Several of us walked away with some nice bits. Charlie brought down a cache of small parts that I snapped up some of (plenty left, JB, except the hoses... Snooze=lose ....) Jim has some very tempting pieces, esp the Fenzy horsecollars. He has a couple beauty NIB regs, too. It was a great day, and should be as good tomorrow. Thanks for organizing it all, CrabbyJim!

My wife and I just got back from meeting up with the gang! Yeah Gosh everyone was just so easy going and amiable, that it was almost anticlimactic. I got some treasures from Jim and Charlie I'll post images tomorrow. JB

Our gathering in Monterey was a great success. We enjoyed each other’s company, swapped gear and stories and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The weather was perfect although the visibility was unexpectedly poor. Still, October is a great time to visit the Monterey area and I hope we can do it again next year.

The diving looks great! I went diving on Saturday too, and had visibility of about five feet in the Clackamas River. If you had more than five feet of vis, you had a better dive than mine. 'Looks like you had a great time there.

Jim's been tempting me with a NIB Scuba Star: he never told me it was blue until a few weeks ago... When I cracked it open, I found out it's the 1961-model, with three spokes on the exhaust valve; it also says 1661 on the box, not 1664... more research ahead! I asked him what he wanted for it, "Get my Hydrotwin-II working..." So now I get to play with his New England Divers HT-II, which for me is half the fun of having old gear JB

Hi All It was great meeting so many other double hose divers. I enjoyed the dives and the company. As you can tell, I joined the forum and plan on meeting up for the next dive/ event. How do I post some pictures? Mark

Well in my opinion the event was a great success. It was nice meeting everyone and putting faces to avatars, hearing great sea stories, and getting insight on vintage gear. There was a lot of knowledge exchanged with the group. On Saturday I believe I counted 9 divers that dove that day. Sunday was a smaller group but still fun was had by all. This is a great beginning to a yearly event. It's too bad there was no group shot done on Saturday unless I missed it. I hope others post some pics also. I'm so looking for next years turnout. Here are some pics my wife took- [a href="http:// "]link[/a] My Grandson and I hold down the fort while everyone is diving [a href="http:// "]link[/a] [a href="http:// "]link[/a]
