Yes, they are. Conditions are not the best and visibility is ten feet (usual for this time of year) but activity is picking up in spite of the state’s shelter in place order.

Ok, I just fininished watching the most gawd-awful movie ever written, directed, filmed or acted. It was supposed to be a horror flick on IMDb TV but I have never in my life seen such terrible acting, writing editing, etc... It was called "The Midnight Swim". The ONLY redeeming social value was a 1/2 second pan-by of a HW Gold Label reg at 46:56. Amazing how that stood out for me as I continued to peer at a movie that should have been burned once the script was read. My 2psi. Others may have different views, but they are wrong.

I prefer REAL action movies, like The Attack of the Crab Monsters and The Killer Shrews.

CJ, I totally love The Killer Shrews: where else can you find a movie with not just Sheriff Roscoe P. Coletrain (James Best) and Festus (Ken Curtus) but big dogs with all of their hair shaved off to look like rodents!!!!!!

Mark, et al, here's a fun one for you: "The 1959 movie The Monster of Piedras Blancas was not shot at Point Piedras Blancas, which is north of San Simeon on the California coast. The lighthouse locations in the movie were filmed at the Point Conception Light lighthouse near Lompoc, and the movie's "town" is actually the seaside town of Cayucos, about 30 miles south of Piedras Blancas."Enjoy! Tomorrow is the day! I'm finally getting my boat out into the Pacific Ocean again for a dive! It has been a while. Taking my Voit NAVY (HPR, Phoenix, DBE....) out for a spin. We are going to look for Halibut on a deeper reef system than we usually dive so I set up my LP steel 95 with an 18lb wing and made sure all systems were go. Thought it looked kinda shiny and all pretty like so I took a pic. Off to slay Halibut, fingers crossed.

I just wrote this for my Facebook page, and thought I'd share it here too.
As I said above, please feel free to share the AIHA link with others who may need to see it. We are trying to get this link as widely disseminated as possible, as quickly as possible.

Happy hunting, and good luck! If the halibut are in hiding, there are other game species for the table too.

2020 is just getting better and better. Both of my boat partners woke up this morning (separately) with fever, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea.... So no diving today for me and now I'm worried for them. Argh! I even had my tank configured just the way I like it. Oh well, for another day.

John, thank you for not being dogmatic on the subject: you are able to learn new things! In Alameda County they really don't want you to use the masks with an exhaust valve: the logic behind it is that the velocity of exhalations is greatly increased because of them. I believe that there is also a massive condensation happening and the droplet size is much-much larger because of it-- HE-YIKES!Last week I went to a hardware store and they have someone at the door enforcing this: you are not allowed inside if you are using one. I was waiting outside for my order, and a man was coming in and the woman stopped him, telling him he needed to either stay out or change his mask... "You're the only place in Alameda County that does this!" he bellyached pathetically, which is a total heap of pure B.S. He then pulled a proper mask out of his back pocket and walked in. As of 6/28/20 there are in AC: Confirmed cases: 5502 Deceased: 130 It is my understanding where people don't believe COVID-19 is real there has been a missive spike in those areas because of people's obstinance... "I know my rights: you can't make me do it!" Well, hopefully with luck they will leave the gene-pool permanently On a much lighter note: I have been making beer from things I've found in the woods and in my yard: as a naturalist I know how to ID plants! I use zero traditional ingredients. The first two batches we made turned out EXTRA potent because we used both California Sagebrush (Artemisia californica) and California Mugwort (Artemisia douglasiana). My wife and I decided to use one or the other because after two ten ounce glasses we were both high as a kite, not drunk but rather stoned Artemisia pontica is what they use in making Absinthe: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AbsintheJB
