Two garage-sale regs and a gift from a friend's father's estate. No time currently to work on them but they are safely in my bin-o-regs-to-be-worked-on-in-the-future. ๐

Nice haul. I am not familiar with the divair that is on the left. What does the lever do that is on the horn on the right side of the photo ?

Wow. You truly do suck, as JB always says How do you find these things? Please tell me that's the same Trieste II you posted about before, and isn't a new one....

How do you find these things? Please tell me that's the same Trieste II you posted about before, and isn't a new one.... Same. Down here at the beach most garage sales have watersports equipment- surfboards, Boogie Boards, fishing gear, wetsuits, Frisbees, and dive gear! We have a very small town and whenever I'm out driving somewhere and I see a garage sale sign and I got an extra 10 min to spare I'll stop in. I probably hit one garage sale a week. Every so often I find something good.

Nice haul. I am not familiar with the divair that is on the left. What does the level do that is on the horn on the right side of the photo ? That blue DivAir has an aluminum body, and is the 2nd of 3 models. The 1st is made of bronze, and the third is made of fiberglass. The aluminum and bronze regulators did not fare well in salt water and got eaten up pretty quickly. DivAir's manufacturer, the Arpin Company, offered a replacement program that would substitute a new fiberglass body for metal ones very cheaply. They installed the guts and covers from the submitted regulator on the new plastic body. This causes no end of model identification issues between the alu and plastic models, since the cover had the serial number of the original regulator which was installed on the new body. I am not sure if the Arpin Co. did this with the bronze DivAirs. They had a knob on the reserve, not a lever. But, I know that Arpin upgraded many aluminum regs. Does anyone know about the bronze regs?

I live in the wrong part of the country. I could hit garage sales around here for the next 20 years and never come across anything this cool.

I live in the wrong part of the country. I could hit garage sales around here for the next 20 years and never come across anything this cool. Since the early 1950's my town of Laguna Beach has been the epicenter of Orange County diving. The amount of dive gear from every mom, dad and their kids who bought it during the 2nd half of the twentieth century, took it to the beach a few times, and stored it in the garage for ever after is astounding. Just the other day a neighbor of mine, who I really don't know, flagged me down as I drove by his house, said he had seen my Sea Hunt license plate and wanted to know if he could give me some old tanks and other dive gear he had from the 60's. Got three 71.2 cu ft steels, a Royal AquaMaster DH and a Blue metal Voit VCR2-50 Fathom. Score! ๐ So I guess what I'm trying to convey is that my area is high density for old dive gear so my odds are better to find something than most places.

I sold the blue 50 Fathom to a friend since I already have two, and the tanks are mixed in with 9 other steel 71.2's (total of 12 - all 3/4" necks, no 1/2" NPT necks). The RAM is currently out having the cans chromed but once I get it together I will be sure and post the results of my project!

WOW Mark some really good regulators. Hi Jerry! I'm sure this mental state of constantly needing to acquire more and greater and different and shinier and older regulators will be an officially recognized American Psychiatric Association DSM-V diagnosis before too long. ๐

Can we get a group rate ? I was trying to post a photo of a literal barn find from Monday. A HW gold label still on the tank it came with full of air that was left in a barn not used since 1974 as well as some other items still in the box. I will not tell the price since it should be a crime. They just wanted it out of the barn. Being on the coast helps but this one was a inland location. Mark is in the most prime location one could think of though.

On another note regulators take up less space than cars, boats, and motorcycles. I suspect most of know this issue as well.

H2, that wasnโt one in Maryland, was it? If itโs the one I saw, youโve committed something downright federal
