I think there is room for both styles of hoses. I know there are a lot of people who would buy Hoses from you Stuart. I have been waiting to buy at least two sets & and I sent you an e-mail offering to advertise your hoses in my booth at a dive show with 20,000 people in attendance next month. There are a lot of people buying and restoring regulators out there and only small percentage are actually diving them. While both styles will work for diving, your hoses are the best option for historical restoration market. Let me know if you reconsider. The market is only getting bigger. -Ryan

I don't think they would sit around, I will buy several more sets also of the various colors you want to make, gray, blue, green, yellow, even black etc.
I think many people are still keenly interested in the silicone hoses. I could be wrong and it is your decision but I am definitly still in the market for your hoses regardless of who other than yourself offers hoses.

Does this mean no yellow silicone hoses or no silicone hoses of any color.

I would prefer Silicone hoses from Stuart. I was hoping for 6-8 yellow pair and possibly 2 green and 1 blue. Bummer! :-(

I was planing on buying 3 pairs of yellow and probably 2 pairs of black silicon hoses from Stuart. If Dan has his available I will buy 1 or 2 pairs from him, but I would still buy the 3 pairs of yellow and the black silicon hoses from Stuarts, if they ever become available. From what I have seen, they are not the same thing.

I can only say that as for myself that was by no means intended.

There is plenty of demand for all of the fine products made by vintage divers. I, for one, try to patronize all suppliers. I bought a set or your hoses, Dan's and lucked out through a private person a set of Stuart's. Which are better? It doesn't matter. All of us who produce some product will sell some to a few. Unfortunately this community is so small that it does take some guts to produce a product that will sell to many. What is most important, IMHO, that your statement is a bit presumptuous. None of us will get rich supplying vintage dive gear. But it is in the spirit of the undertaking that we do it. I make harnesses, big deal. Right now I can tell you that if I quit giving them away to friends in the diving community and made $10 an hour constructing them things, I might actually break even. But who cares. Diving has been and will always be an expensive hobby. Because it is, I praise those that put out their capital for us all. Allan

... Y'all need to reread the string "yeller hoses" that was hijacked from me when I first offered mine for sell....... this string is taking the same track on Dan......maybe you don't intend to slam him but you guys are never the less....... I think you've missed what people are trying to say to both Dan and Stuart and it in no way detracts from Dan or his hoses. Dan is a stand-up gentleman who has been gracious enough to host this board and offer his products for-sale, for the benefit of the Vintage Diving community. I haven't read a post yet that did anything but praise Dan and/or try to let Stuart know that people would purchase his hoses as well. ... I don't know how he feels, but at this point in time I don't think any of you deserves any special effort by anyone to provide what the market desires..... This is counter productive and divisive. I agree with Allan when he said "I praise those that put out their capital for us all". The buyers and sellers need each other and I personally believe that we as buyers are fortunate to have people like Dan, Bryan, Allan and many many others as sellers. Let's be grateful these sellers exist and get back to the original topic of the thread, Dan's new yellow hoses. I for one can't wait!

I'm sure there is a market for all the hoses available since none offered are identical to anyone elses. Most people should be happy that there is a variety of choices available because hoses are a large investment and sometimes it takes years to sell them all. So let's all just be one happy vintage scuba family! : ) Dan

Post deleted because I am not interested in fighting over this stuff and what more is obvious is that there is room for several sources of hoses/procducts and further that no particular person owns any market. I have tried to spread my purchases around to support all of the vintage suppliers.

Stuart, I've been patiently holding out for eight pair of your hoses. Four pair in black, three in yellow, and a blue pair. And if I need to buy more later on to help you out, oh darn; I'll have some extra spares. A lot of us are purists and like the look of your seamed authentic looking hoses, but are willing to use what is available for now. Actually, right now, I am either using your hoses on my regulators or factory originals. And when I finish my restoration project on my 67 Royal, I will have used my eighth and last pair of your first production run of hoses. I don't know how many more years I can nurse out the three pair of original hoses that I am currently using. Plus I'll need to replenish my supply of spare black hoses. You can't have only one spare set of black hoses for seven black hosed regulators... So PLEEEEESE!!! Vintage Bob Santee CA

I have not seen Dan't newest offering, but I have two pair of Stuart's yellow hoses and three pair of his black hoses. In my collection I have several original sets of new condition hoses on the original regulators. I must admit, I cannot see any difference between the originals and Stuart's replicas. In fact, I'm not really sure which is which now. The silicone hoses are said to look the same.
I have some of Dan's hoses too and they certainly are good quality hoses, that I trust my life to. In fact I dived with them here in Australia yesterday. However, Stuart's hoses are a collector's dream come true. I have ordered 8 sets. I would have wanted some in black and a grey set too, but I can live with 8 yellow sets if that's all he makes. Those that are not used right away, will certainly be needed sometime in the future.
Cheers to you all, from the south side of the world.

Looks like a pretty good demand for hoses out there. I suspect the demand will grow. Me, I like the grey hoses for my Voit, but yellow matches my tanks and looks good wit my Aqua lung. Hope they keep being made.

Gee ... what keeps going through my mind ... in the vintage days ... did everyone fuss about where the hoses came from? Or, did we just go out diving and spearfishin' and having fun? Oh ... we used to get crabs in the chesapeake bay ... yummie! (some of the sailors got crabs form other sources, also). Is everyone laughing yet? Them sailors I mentioned they weren't laughing ...
Ok ... I have one DA regulator I dive with. It's a great regulator, I have two sets of hoses already for it and two mouthpieces. I don't collect and usually buy what I intend to dive with. I might buy an extra set of hoses ... who knows ... sometimes I've been known to "restore" regs for friends. Might buy hoses then. Might buy some for spare parts.
Got to go ... this stupid fly keeps flying in my face ... it's about to get swatted ... don't tell animal rights on me ... ok?
