O.K., here's the plan. I'll let you know how it works. Plug the horn with a wine cork, submerge the plugged horn in tool dip, test fit, repeat if necessary. Dan's hoses arrived today, but I am in the middle of a move and won't be able to test this cock-a-mamy scheme until Thursday since I am in one town and my Mistral is 70 miles away.

I don't see them in the store. Dan, I'm with duckbill. Where are the yellow hoses listed for sale?

I don't think I'm going to advertise them on the site- email me for prices and availability. Thanks! Here are some photos of the new hoses shown with an original US Divers yellow mouthpiece from 1959. The color match is very close.

I just got my pair of DANS new yellow hoses. I had NO problem fitting them to the ORIGINAL usd straight mouthpiece, with original USD early thin nylon clamps! The mouthpiece fit perfectly, and the hoses went right onto the horns and over the bill perfectly. These hoses are like the original neoprene hoses, VERY SOFT, and FLEXIBLE! The color is a perfect match. Comparing to the color on my 1959 usd tank, its a perfect duplicate. I know that a DA NAVY didnt come with yeller hoses, but they are so pretty, I thought it would dress it up. Sure looks swell! For the price they are the best deal in the world!

Chuck, Are they diveable? Is Dan being too much the perfectionist? Can you post some pics. Thanks, Michel A.

Michel, when they arrived today, I was just so impressed at the suppleness, just like the original, and the color is an exact match to my mint 1958 yellow aqua lung tank!! I put them on an original straight mouthpiece, coated with silicon to make them slide on, and it was a snug perfect fit! It went on the horns of the reg fine too. I overhauled the reg, a 1957 DA NAVY some time ago, and now it has the new hoses. I have to say the hoses impress me more than any of the other hoses available domesticly up until now. All this talk about not fitting, is for nothing. I tried 2 mouthpieces to be sure, and they are FINE! I sent DAN some pictures I hope he gets them on here soon. These are great hoses. I wouldnt think there would be any problem diving them at all. Broxton Chuck

Chuck, Sounds good too me, if you think they are good they are good, enough of this yellow hose paralysis by analysis, my Mistral needs them. Can't wait to see photos, Thanks again Chuck, Michel A.

Chucko said, " All this talk about not fitting, is for nothing. I tried 2 mouthpieces to be sure, and they are FINE! "
That is sort of true. The new hoses do fit the mouthpieces nicely, but the collars are thin as Dan has said. The problem is not with fitting on the mouthpiece, but getting the nylon USD screw and nut clamps to tighten. By making the area thicker where the clamp goes, both mouthpiece AND intact horn, the clamps work fine. I used a piece of silicone that was 1/32" in thickness to wrap around my original mouthpiece. The silicone was a "pot holder" from one of those dollar stores. I cut a strip 7/8" wide and wrapped it, fitting it end to end on the mouthpiece. To hold it together I used a small 1/2" X 1/2" piece of electrical tape. A little silcone grease allowed the hose end to slide on snuggly. Ditto on the intake horn on the can. Tinnermans, like Dan suggested, or cable ties will work very well also. Allan

Thats a great idea. I used ther original thin early nylon clamps and they tightened fine. A real easy way to do it also, is to just file a few thousandths, about the thickness of a couple cards off the face of your clamps, and they will "butt" nice and tight! Or you can do as they used to do with the early thin clamps, to keep from pinching the rubber they used a piece of brass shim stock. You could cut a thin strip as wide as the clamp from an old credit card, and place under the clamp. Instant fit!
