I've decided to buy a run of yellow hoses. The color and length will match the original US Divers ones almost exactly and the only difference will be that they are seamless. The introductory price will be $40 a pair and quantity discounts will be available. I had wanted to make the yellow hoses back in 2000 but was convinced that the gray ones were a better choice (couldn't afford both). Later I held off again when Stuart had his mold made and I helped him with the correct yellow and Voit green colors. Now I have exhausted my Voit gray hoses and will invest in a yellow batch. It's a big investment but I hope it will fill the need. I should have them in stock by mid-February. Dan

Wonderful! Count me in. Will you by any chance be doing grey as well?

Good to hear, Dan. The W. Pico Mistral you overhauled for me a few weeks ago is screaming for a pair. Can't wait ... and thanks.

I bring this up not to involve myself in the "hose wars" but to just consider something. People are bigger now, not just overweight but they are just simply bigger. I wonder if it might be better for (modern sized) vintage divers for the hoses to be about one inch longer than the original length? Just a question and a thought.

Micheal,
A thought just entered my head (not to many do, LOL). Maybe sell some to that guy that has the $2,500 Mares regulator (see the buy, sell, trade section) for $300 and make a nice profit for yourself.
Well, I bought a pair from you already and I'm very happy with them. They are very well made and I think they will last many years longer than the original hoses. I'm sort of broke right now; but, if I get a job I might just buy another pair ... that's a steal at $30.00 a set!

I have a Warner address Mistral, so it was made after '64. I know the yellow hoses were used on the early Mistrals, did that continue through the Mistral production? Or did they switch to black when they moved to the Warner address? I think the yellow hoses look cool and would photograph quite nicely, but I'd rather run the correct color for my "vintage". Besides, the black hoses on it now are in great shape.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback. Stuart finally answered a email after I informed him that I was making some yellow hoses. He says his mold is not working right and he's trying to figure out the problem. He didn't give any time frame as to when they might be in production. James, thanks for the suggestion to make these hoses longer but I believe I will make them the factory length. Not only would the extra length add to the price but I prefer to make them as original as possible. And with proper regulator positioning, they should fit most divers. If not, there are longer hoses on the market. I won't be doing any more gray hoses but I might have a source if anyone needs some. Email me. Dan

I still wonder when someone is going to produce the 1 inch dia. both side hoses. I want a couple of red ones for BC's. That would be nice. Dorothy was wanting a set of blue hoses, I think for a Voit.

Yes, but will you be making a pair in tie-died for Broxton Chuck? ;D

In 1963 USD changed the Mistral to black hose with a curved mouth piece like the DA. Yellow hoses with straight black mouthpiece and yellow hoses with yellow mouthpiece preceeded 1963.

Hello everyone, Good news is that my tooling is operational, but the bad news is that I'm no longer marketing my hoses. I know there are some of you who have been waiting very patiently and really want the hoses, but my general opinion from reading what people have been writing is that most people want cheap domestic hoses. I can't afford to have a quantity made and be left sitting on them. I wish Dan good sales and once again sorry for the disappointment. Stuart

I was fortunate to use a set of your silicone hoses and want to say they are wonderful. I don't know how many you need to make in a run, but I am quite sure you will sell many of them. Americans tend not to be patient and as a result have purchased Mossbacks hoses and most likely will buy some of Dan's. I have a pair of Mossbacks and will get a pair of Dan's, but be rest assured, I am still in line for a minimum of 3 sets of your silicone. I think most people will buy your hoses if available. The difference in price is not that great and those of us who have used your silicone hoses know the quality. Please kind Sir, do not cease operation. Allan
